My uncle Joey. I already miss you so much.
Not everyone gets the same version of a human
But man, I wouldn’t trade the ones I have for anything in the world.
I share memories of you constantly and never stopped.
The man who never let me swim in a dirty pool, who let me play , brush and put clips in his long long hair while he watched movies with me. The man who surprised us christmas morning with Snow because he went out and filled the bed of his truck with his doggy.

I got to see you be a dad to your girls in a different light
He’d pick me up on fridays (till the girls were old enough and my Nina would make them lol) and I’d spend all weekend with my Nina and uncle.
I’d marvel at my cousins getting ready & he’d yell at them to be safe and make it home at a good time
He’d spend the night with me
Showing me music,telling me stories. He had the best stories of growing up , concerts, why he loved a song and what parts to really listen to. He’d taste the desserts I’d spend hours making in the kitchen and tell me they were the best. I’d sit for hours & watch him make art out of wood. This man had the goofiest laugh and was so damn loud 😂💗
My favorite memory is my cousins graduating highschool
We all went & I’m sitting between him and my Godmother, my cousins name gets called
Ithis man pulls out the largest blow horn I’ve ever seen (it was almost taller than me)
He’s jumping in the stands, blowing on it screaming “MY BABYGIRL!”
That blow horn was never far - rams, Yankees, kings, lakers, usc games. NEW YEARS. He was blowing that thing
But seeing him jump and scream for his daughters was so special. I was maybeeee 5 years old? Maybe younger but I can see it so clearly. Writing this hurts my heart, hurts my stomach, my head.
This doesn’t feel real & I haven’t let myself feel it til now.
I filled a hole of letting his babies get big, and then he got to be a PAPA to 4 beautiful babies. He loved them so much. His new pride and reason for life.
Ugh my uncle Joey, thank you for showing me music, art, LIFE, love. I love you. And I know you’re riding your bike, dancing, and playing darts.

Happyyyyy opening day!

I told Audree this morning “baby!! Baseballs back!”
She rolled her eyes and said “but we’ve watched baseball like everyday.” 💙🧢😂⚾️

Watching the news this morning “to beat the champ….ya gotta knock em out” she threw everything she was holding and ran with her finger in the air yelling “let’s go dodgers!”
