This week, our SPCA of Texas Emergency Response Team has been on the ground in Colorado supporting animals impacted by the recent Pueblo fires. 💜 The team has been assisting the @humanesocietypikespeak with daily animal care duties, including cleaning, laundry, dishes, and enrichment activities to help keep displaced animals comfortable and cared for during this challenging time. We're grateful to our friends at the ASPCA for helping connect us with the shelter in Aspen, and allowing us to lend a hand where it's needed most. When disasters strike, compassion takes flight. 💜✈️🐾Today, nearly 18,000 pounds of emergency pet supplies arrived in Central Texas to help animals, shelters, and families impacted by the devastating floods.We're proud to partner with @bestfriendsanimalsociety, @wingsofrescue_official, @humanesocietyofnorthtexas, @operationkindness and @austinpetsalive to deliver pet food, water, crates, leashes, PPE, and more to the areas and animals that need it the most. Once the shipment arrives in Austin, it will be transported to @CastrovilleAnimalShelter where supplies will be coordinated and distributed to shelters, rescue organizations, and flood-impacted communities caring for displaced pets.Creating a brighter future for animals, people, and the community means showing up every day for the communities we serve while also standing alongside our neighbors when disasters strike. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we’re able to do both. This is what collaboration looks like. 🚚💜 Our SPCA of Texas team has returned from Uvalde after delivering critical relief supplies to communities impacted by flooding. The devastation caused by the flooding was evident throughout the area, and the team at @barcuvalde was incredibly grateful for the support. Thanks to the swift response of our staff and partners, we were one of the first organizations to respond to the request for assistance, delivering an impressive 16,981 pounds of supplies to help pets and people in need. But that's not all! Stay tuned for more updates on our ongoing relief efforts as we continue supporting our shelter partners and the communities they serve. 🐾 BARC Uvalde has requested additional supplies, specifically cat food, and we anticipate sending another shipment later this week.
