Community is huge to me. The field is like another home because everyone out here has the same love and passion. You know that everyone is going to support you and build you up. That’s what @spearscapes.built, a MMTH company, is all about. They build places for athletes and communities to come together by @spearscapes.built

This week was Women in Construction Week, an initiative led by the @nawicnational that recognizes the women helping shape and build our industry every day.

At Spearscapes, we’re proud to work alongside talented women whose work leaves a lasting impact on the projects and communities we serve. Today we’re highlighting one of our team members, Janelle Harper whose been with us for almost four year and learning more about the projects that have meant the most to her during her time here.

• What project are you most proud of and why?
"The project I’m most proud of is the @kansascitychristianschool playground. It was the first project completed together by MMTH Sports Construction and Spearscapes, with @MMTH.built building the soccer field and Spearscapes installing the playground. Being part of the first collaboration between the two teams made it really special to see everything come together for the school."

• What project is most memorable to you?
"The most memorable project for me was a Residential Par 3 and pure putt. It was such a unique project and not something you get to work on every day. Watching it go from concept to a finished backyard par 3 was really fun and rewarding."

We’re grateful for the dedication, talent, and perspective women bring to our team and to the construction industry every day! #WomenInConstruction #SportsConstruction #Innovation by @spearscapes.built

Winters bring the snow, ice, and freezing temperatures. Summers. bring the heat and humidity. Spring and fall brings rain. When you can’t rely on the outdoors to hold your games, sometimes you have to take it inside. by @spearscapes.built

Before modern gym surfaces were invented, all gymnasiums were hardwood. And for good reason. Hardwood courts are built for shock absorption, which is much kinder on your ankles and knees. The finish provides good traction for quick movements. And the wide flat space is great for exercises like sprints, burpees, and mountain climbers. by @spearscapes.built

Our work is play. We loved partnering with @kansasrecandpark and @sncoparksrec for an awesome evening filled with putting greens, bingo and prizes. Proud to help sponsor the 2026 KRPA conference and support great community leaders. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello. Hope you had as much fun as we did!

Our experts install professional-quality hardwood surfaces for basketball courts. Our installations offer a consistent ball bounce, shock absorption to protect players’ joints, and increased durability and low maintenance.

The surface impacts game performance and player health. That’s why Spearscapes makes sure that every court is precisely installed. by @spearscapes.built
