37 years ago Sick Of It All solidified my love for NYHC, and I never saw them play.

It was the first time I’d experienced a real hardcore pit and lasted one Maximum Penalty song shooting from the floor before ensconcing myself on stage in a corner alongside icons BJ Papas & Michelle Taylor. CBs was rammed, 100F and no in and outs - I had to bail before SOIA due to dehydration. I visited the Def Jam/In-Effect offices earlier in the week and grabbed a copy of Blood Sweat And No Tears and it’s been a favourite since.

I was lucky enough to see, shoot and book Sick Of It All many times over the next three decades - Lou and the band always gave 110%
