Not every hotshot load is just strap it down and go. Sometimes the freight needs a little extra protection along the way. For this shipment, the freight was loaded onto one of our hotshots, properly secured, and tarped to help keep it protected from the elements during transit. That’s why we always want to know exactly what we’re moving before we send a truck. Open deck, tarps, straps, chains, liftgate, pallet jack, whatever the shipment calls for, we want the driver showing up prepared. The bigger truck isn’t always the better option. 🚐💨 Our customer originally requested a box truck for this shipment. After looking at the freight, Rey realized there was no reason for them to pay for all that extra truck. It could fit in a cargo van. We switched the equipment, cut the transportation cost nearly in half, and because a cargo van can move quickly and direct, we were also able to get the freight to delivery faster. That’s a big part of what we do at SPEED. We’re not here to sell you the biggest truck we can. Sometimes the most important part of an expedited shipment is simply being there and ready. ✈️🚚 Our driver arrived at the airport at 2 PM, knowing the aircraft hadn't landed yet. So we waited. When you're dealing with time critical air freight, the last thing you want is the plane landing and then starting the search for a truck. These two pallets are getting moved with one of our box trucks equipped with a liftgate and pallet jack, making pickup and delivery simple even when there’s no dock or forklift available. That flexibility can make a huge difference. Whether we’re delivering to a construction site, small business, residential location, or anywhere else without traditional unloading equipment, we can arrange the right truck and equipment to get the job done. The driver can lower the freight safely to ground level and use the pallet jack to get it exactly where it needs to go.
