I take my artist dates with myself very seriously. Not just as a way of romanticizing my life, but because creativity and play have become a really important part of how I care for my body.

So much of our lives are spent being productive, solving problems, thinking ahead, managing responsibilities and adapting to whatever is happening around us. Creativity offers a completely different experience. When we paint, write, take photographs, cook, make something with our hands, wander through a gallery or follow a little spark of curiosity, we step out of that constant state of doing and give ourselves permission to simply experience/ “be”.

Our nervous system is constantly taking in information from our environment, and experiences of play, pleasure, curiosity and creative expression can communicate something very different from urgency/ threat. And because our nervous and immune systems are so closely connected, creating more experiences of safety and regulation can have an impact far beyond making us feel good.

This has been vital for me over the past few years. I’ve been healing from various chronic illnesses, and lived nomadically, moved countries, and now I’m navigating being a newlywed and an immigrant while continuing to figure out what “home” means to me. There has been a lot of change, a lot of adapting and a lot of uncertainty. But, I am reminded (cue Dolly),that I’m truly a wildflower, and we can grow anywhere I go🌼

My artist dates give me a reason to explore wherever I am, to stay curious, to notice beauty, to make something, to meet new people, and to have experiences that are rooted in be-ing

So maybe you need some artist dates in your life too. You don’t have to consider yourself an artist (though, I believe everyone is). Just follow your curiosity and see where it takes you.

Καλό μήνα / Happy December / New Moon blessings from Mallorca 🇪🇸🌑🫶

How is it already December—and basically 2025?! 🤯 I started November with a road trip from Lago Como 🇮🇹 to Basel 🇨🇭 for the Autumn Festival 🍂. The monolith pictured marks the intersection of 🇨🇭 Switzerland, 🇫🇷 France, and 🇩🇪 Germany, where I also had yummy Turkish breakfast 🇹🇷😋.

From there, I arrived in Mallorca, Spain for an artist residency 🎨and have been falling in love with the island. I recently moved to a new spot with trailheads and the beach nearby, and for the first time since May, I’ve stayed in one place for a month! 🏡 It feels so grounding to fill up the pantry and fridge (lots of 100% #glutenfree places too!), enjoy the sun, art, nature, animals, and quality time with myself, God, and amazing new friends (you know who you are 👯‍♀️).

I’ve been exploring the island’s unique offerings, while balancing work, healing, strengthening boundaries, trusting my instincts, spending less time on my phone, and speaking my truth the moment something feels off. I even got a snake tattoo 🐍 on the full moon from @elisa______________ @acalmite to represent shedding what isn’t mine to hold. ✨

Current mantra: I won’t come off the top shelf for someone who can’t reach—ladders exist for a reason (aka do the work to reach me🪜💕). And: I will only accept being treated as sacred because that’s what I am (as are you 👑).

December plans: continuing to explore Mallorca, attending events, coworking, and diving into work, art, healing (did I mention they have a #holisticdentist here?!), singing, moving in ways that feel good, and writing. After that? Maybe Morocco or Madeira for the holidays—TBD, but I already know I’ll be back here.

What matters for your future is what you are doing RIGHT NOW. It’s in being consistent with what feels nourishing and sustainable to YOU. You’re worth the investment (you are your most important investment), always 💗💗💗

For many years now, I’ve completed seasonal check-ins to run inventory on my goals/ express gratitude (bc it all unfolded as perfectly as it needed to 🙏💕) on/ for the season that’s coming to an end, and created goals/ intentions for the season ahead. We are cyclical creatures, and it’s a fun little ritual that I recommend to anyone interested 📝
