I was watching A Charlie Brown Christmas right after rewatching Depeche Mode 101, and I got a fun idea…

“Avengers Babies” commission (2023)
-This was a piece that I was commissioned for last year that I had taken a much longer to complete due to a lot of things going on in life at the time and basically, I was just at zero enthusiasm for doing much of anything. Yet, when I got to the point where I was able to get at a good starting point, I had begun remembering how much I enjoyed doing illustration and cartooning and the process helped me rediscover why I love doing this stuff to begin with. Because of that, it’s got a special significance to me and the patron who commissioned it was fully supportive through my funk. So, yeah… This is one of my personal all-time favorites of mine.

Deadpool Team-Up No.1- Variant Sketch Cover - B
- Out of all the numerous ideas I came up with for Deadpool & Wolverine themed cover art, this was the very first one that came to mind, but was actually the second one I started. These have been a lot of fun and the crazy thing is I actually have several more to showcase. Told ya’ll to get the special sock out… It’s gonna get good. 😆

Deadpool Team-Up No.1- Variant Sketch Cover - A
- This one was actually the first one I worked on for the series of covers centered around Deadpool & Wolverine, but I wanted to use characters that were actually featured on the original cover by @robliefeld and it was a good reason to draw characters I’ve never drawn for, like Dragon Man (who may be my new favorite Marvel character and they better put him in a movie..!); and it was just an all-around fun one to do.

Deadpool Team-Up No.1- Variant Sketch Cover - C.
- I got the idea for this one after reading somewhere that “Deadpool & Wolverine” was the superhero equivalent of the classic, “Planes, Trains and Automobiles”; and especially considering the deep admiration that Ryan Reynolds has for the late, great John Candy; it seemed all too appropriate. Wait till you see the next film homage in the works for these DP & Wolvie sketch cover variants. ( Variants A & B will be shown later this week, this one was shown for Thanksgiving.)

Happy Turkey Day to you all! And on Thanksgiving we watch real “turkeys” of movies! The annual MST3k Turkey Day Marathon has been in full swing all day and is still going on their YouTube channel. I recently created a new MST3k fan art poster of another one of my favorite episodes, the beyond ridiculous 80’s mishap called “Space Mutiny”. Trust me, MST3k is literally the ONLY way one can watch this movie..! Hope everyone has a most excellent Thanksgiving and keep watching!

Spider-Gwen No.1 Custom Cover - This was one I had worked on a long time ago but didn’t have an idea for the back for a while until I thought to add the unique take on Doctor Octopus that “Into the Spider-Verse” introduced. After seeing both “Into” and “Across the Spider-Verse”, Gwen’s become one of my newer favorite heroes of recent years. I may have to feature more of her on here.

A couple months ago I was able to go to Toronto, Canada for the 2024 FanExpoCanada and I had the great fortune to meet several cast members of one of my all time favorite shows, @letterkennyproblems . They were all some of the nicest, kindest, gracious, and just all around best people and this is the fan art that I created in the months leading up to the FanExpo which some of you may have seen in my stories on here, but I never formally posted.

I was thinking of this when I remembered that this is the time of year we’d normally anticipate seeing a new season of Letterkenny and this will be the first year without 😭… However, there is something just as good. Check out the @sparepartspodcast with Roald and Katy themselves, @evanjstern and @michellemylett .
It’s a fun, engaging, hilarious, insightful podcast that is rewatching and recapping the whole series, while Evan and Michelle answer questions about love and life in general. So if you need your fix of new Letterkenny content, definitely give them a listen. (You’ll hear about the madness of the Justin Timberlake concert!)

A recent commission I did for a dear friend. I thought it’d be fun to try a method that I had not really explored before, which is rendering with a ballpoint pen. I had seen a couple of artists do some amazing works with just a standard Bic pen you’d find at Walmart or Staples, and I wanted to see how I’d do. I think it came out alright for a first attempt.

Furiosa, 08.24
.
.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here. It was time to shake some of the rust off. I’ve been working on several other things that drawing just for the sake of drawing had gotten away from me. I’ve got to work out the kinks a bit and get back in it! Oh, if you haven’t seen Furiosa, definitely check it out. On a big screen too. It’s a balls out awesome crazy action movie!

Throwback to one of my favorite Batman covers I’ve done in the past in recognition of Batman Day!

Another recent commission. I have a fondness for some of the lesser known Marvel characters of the 90’s because that’s when I really started reading, collecting, and just being a big Marvel fan. Nova, we’ve seen referred to in the MCU in some capacity, and Darkhawk is one of those very 90’s characters that may make an appearance in some capacity.
.

Occasionally now and then between raging about the state of the world, I do comic art and illustration. At least, that’s what I’m remembering. Recent commission that’s an homage to a classic Iron Man cover by @comic_legend_bob_layton
