In case you haven’t noticed…🏃🏻‍♀️🏋🏻

My fitness journey has been ramped up this past year. Not only does my muggle job have me hitting up classes all the time, but I genuinely enjoy moving my body. From Barry’s Classes to dance classes (teaching and taking🤯) to Volleyball, I am so grateful for my body doing the dang thing. It is capable of so much more than I anticipated.

I knew as I got older I wanted to ensure mup. And some days, I just have to “quit being a little b*tch” and get my ass to class! It’s not always easy but the dedication to myself pushes me through!

Adult birthdays are weird.🎂

Somehow, the years seem to go by faster and faster, and birthdays become less about celebrating and more about reflecting on just how much life has changed.

Sometimes they look different than you imagined they would. And maybe that’s okay.

Oct. 10th - World Mental Health Day🫶🏼🩷

Mental health is something that is way over looked in the performing arts. There is still such a strong belief that one must suffer to be an artist. That we more often than not just need to suck it up, be grateful for what we are being offered.

What we continue to neglect eventually catches up with us. Sure. When we are working, we are on the highest highs. But what happens when the work isn’t there? Are we ensuring we have the tools to navigate the inevitable tough times? Performing brings the highest highs, but in turn, the lowest lows.

Are you taking care of your mental health to navigate both sides of the coin?

One of my fave parts of a @barrys work out is the all out sprint. How often as adults do we get to just run as fast as we can?!?

Hitting that 15mph is a challenge and one I love working for. These are just a few little things that help me get that sprint all the way to the end!

Robbins’ choreo taught me…✈️

…just how capable my body is. I did so much in this show I didn’t even dream myself capable of. This double barrel being one of those things.

Being an opera singer, it drove some of the theatre performers mad but that’s why happens when you start dancing at the age of 6. Taking half days to go train. Pushing yourself to complete your ballet exams despite the bullying, despite being “too fat,” despite being a tap dancer and being told “you’ll never make it as a ballet dancer.”

Then you end up on tour doing the original Jerome Robbins Choreo as Dream Tony and Jet Swing. Funny!

Come dance with me TONIGHT at @combo2callback with @theatrecalgary ! Happy to answer any burning questions or chat about whatever. But if anything, we will definitely be dancing and sweating! 🩷
