What a wild few months that was…

We've just arrived home from two months on Kamchatka Peninsula in Far Eastern Russia, working on our next film project. @the.corners.of.the.earth

While we were in transit the troubles in Ukraine really escalated. With some solid reassurance from our friends and crew on the ground in Kamchatka we decided to push ahead and continue on with the project.

Since then we've been filming along one of the last undiscovered and unexplored wave rich coastlines in the world with an incredible group of people who showed us nothing but love, hospitality and their deep passion for surfing.

It is an understatement to say that it’s a very challenging time in the world right now. We have had so many really difficult decisions to make, and to be honest we're still trying to figure it out. In the end though, we are happy we stayed. We were really well looked after by all our friends in Kamchatka and are excited to share this coastline and its incredible people to the world later this year.

We couldn’t have done any of it without the help, logistics, guiding and local expertise of the @helipro.ru crew + @snowave_kamchatka @maxbaloo @mihamoroz @snowvalleykamchatka and of course the boys

Another trip of a lifetime to one of the wildest places on earth for @the.corners.of.the.earth

Plenty of blood, sweat and tears went into this one and we can’t wait to share this adventure with everyone 🫶

The older we get - these projects and trips seem to mean so much more to us. Not sure how many more of these the team has in us but so glad we went for it and chased another dream while we have the chance.

Another amazing trip wrapped in the kingdom of Tonga working on a dream project with @phoria.io @view_phoria

Super excited to see what these guys do with this footage we captured. They are at the forefront of the VR space - specialising in cutting-edge Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality so being able to watch our underwater whale footage through virtual reality goggles / headsets and other outlets is going to be amazing 🙏🏼

This year on the islands definitely had its challenges - plenty of 3am wakeups, long days on out the boats, bad weather, whales on the move. It really felt like we had to work hard and put in the extra effort to get the shots we needed. But that’s all part of it and makes it all the more worth it when you have good days.

Thanks for the last minute new Siren / Raptor dive housing @saltysurfhousings - it was so good to put it to the proper test over there while being underwater everyday ❤️
