Impossible to sum up all of the great things that happened to me in 2025. I went to 15 different countries, shared countless laughs and dance floors with friends old and new, found myself on so.many.boats, moved my hot gf into my perfect house, adopted a silly dog, bought my dream sweatpants, got inflight caviar service in a QSuite, and was blessed with Heated Rivalry! Hard to top (…that’s what she said.) Bad things happened too of course, for I am only human, but I don’t want to post about those, because when I’m 90 with dementia I want to look back on my instagram feed and be like WOW who is that hottie with a perfect life?! Love you all, I think 2026 is really gonna be our year x by @spescks

It took 2 whole years for me to feel even remotely ready to let a dog into my heart again, but when @jmerlwhat and I impulsively fostered this sweet, strange, gooey puddle of love last month, I had a feeling that his corn chip toes were here to stay. Coming out of grid retirement because I can’t stop thinking about how much I love Taiwan. I knew I’d love the food, and the people, and the hot springs, and the mountains, but I could not have possibly guessed that my favourite thing of all would be the totally bonkers gorgeous architecture. You can tell a lot about a place from its buildings and, ironically perhaps, Taiwan feels like a Real Country; a place to live that centres community, bleeds abundance, prioritises beauty, and always moves at exactly the right speed to get you where you need to go. taken in Tainan, Taiwan by @spescks

Here are pictures of the top 10 bodies of water I swam in on my recent trip to France. I’m posting them so you will look at them and feel jealous. Perhaps you’ll think “ugh I wish I could go there” or “Sophie is having such a better summer than me.” I want you to feel that because I’m deeply insecure about the way I’m perceived on the internet and because I too have felt painfully jealous when looking at lovely pictures of your holidays while I rot in bed on my phone. OLIVE PECK 2009-2023 // I WAS HERS & SHE WAS MINE // This week, after some months of ongoing health issues, Olive unequivocally let me know it was time to let her go. She passed away peacefully at home with my forehead pressed against hers. I’m heartbroken but also proud of her for advocating for herself, sweetly and stubbornly, right up to the end.
Together we lived in 2 countries, 5 states, 8 cities, and 15 different apartments. I was 21 when she arrived and about to be 36 when she departed.
Her omnipresent raspy snorts, the unmistakable clatter of little feet on floorboards as she rushed to greet me, the silent but oh so loud big-eyed begging for whatever food was in my hand…the enormity of the void she leaves behind after 14 years is impossible to articulate.
Olive taught me how to be selfless; how to love someone so much that you willingly expand beyond your own edges. She taught me the value of patience, interdependence, and risk. She taught me how to accept help from others. She taught me that we are all worthy of unconditional love.
She had a big, beautiful, adventurous life and it was the greatest honour of mine to be alongside her for it.
If you were lucky enough to know her over the years, as so many of you were, I’d love to hear a memory or a story in the comments. Thank you for everything, Olive. We’ll miss you so very much 🍤❤️ by @spescks

Did you know you can just get on a plane and go to Colorado with your friends and swim in clear waters and tailgate out the back of a rental car and hike in the mountains and post on Lex and sing along to Lucinda Williams in the rain and read an entire book and look for bighorn sheep and eat a lot of those little smoked meat sticks and laugh so so much? by @spescks
