A few weeks ago, my work “Exposure” was illuminated by @michael_scheinemann’s “Sonnenkammer”.

A spotlight sitting on a pyramid-shaped metal casing replicates the sun, relentlessly tracing its path throughout the day.
The room that “Sonnenkammer” rests in renders night and day as inexistent, and all complexity of outside life is reduced to a persistent path along the walls, an utterly slow climb through each evenness and distortion that the room’s structure happens to offer.
As soon as the beam reaches the sculpture nearby, an enigmatic gleam lightens up the room.
Meanwhile, the limestone’s vulnerability and tension are being deepened by the shadows.

Together, the two pieces suggest the impression of a time exposure, and while the beam is marking the stone, the emission seems to grow stronger, until the sun eventually gets past the temporary obstacle and continues on its route. by @spherewriter

When my work „Sonnenkammer“ and @spherewriter 's work
„Exposure“ stood alongside each other during a group show at
Jahresausstellung at the @adbk_nuernberg this year something
peculiar happened. When the lightbeam that my work sent out to emulate and point at the sun slowly wandered across the ceiling and walls of the exhibition space it eventually crossed the limestone sculpture sitting on a pedestal not far from it. It wrapped around and passed through the gaps between the thin strings of solid rock,
illuminating it and projecting its silhouette on the wall behind it.

This created an interaction that brought out the very archaic qualities in both works. The light seemed to make the sun move into the rock, bringing it to life, before eventually passing by. taken in Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Nürnberg by @spherewriter
