Amazing director and trumpet player, but an even better man. We only had Mr. Ellis as our band director for two years, but he truly changed the program. We’re sad he’s moving and jealous of the school that gets him next.

Our trumpet section said, “Thank you for teaching us the confidence we’ve had since your first year,” and among countless other comments, we finally settled on:

“We love the slop, Big E.” by @sphstrumpets

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT... meet Lexie! ☀️

Lexie has been in band for a total of 7 years. Her favorite memory is getting to march in the San Antonio parade during our spring trip this year! Her favorite show is "Dare to Dream" from her freshman year, as she says it's very sentimental!

After high school, Lexi plans on attending Tennessee State to major in Biology and minor in Chemistry, Nonprofit Management, and Leadership! She's a part of TSU's honor college as well as the Dr. Levi Watkins Institute, an early medical school acceptance program!

Her words of wisdom are, "Be in the moment, this time of your life goes so fast, be present and have fun!"

WE LOVE YOU LEXIE!! by @sphstrumpets

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT.... meet Jayden! ☀️

Jayden has been in band for 6 years and served as trumpet section leader for a year. His favorite memory is getting to the play the final note in this year's show!

After high school, he plans to go to the University of Alabama, studying Software Engineering.

His words of wisdom are, "Everything will be okay in the end, if it's not okay, it's not the end."
- Jayden Lamar
