"let the sun in" is a song I wrote about my parents' dog, Max.

I guess what Max symbolizes, besides a love for treats, is just the diversity of the kinds of love by itself. I focused so hard on romantic love in my past work that I wanted to explore different kinds of love. Love for friends, family, and this little doggo.

I wrote the song at a time where I spent a lot of time in my room, which didn't have much natural sunlight. I would occasionally let some light in through the blinds, which felt good. When I would go back home to Los Angeles, it would be a lot easier for me to remember to let the sun in because I was taking care of Max. Max seemed to like the air and sun outside. Being around him is always a great reminder to let the sun in, and catch some rays for the day. Grateful to get to spend time with such a sweet little doggo.

So anyways, this video doesn't have much of a story, it's just an homage to Max and his love for treats. Using treats as incentive was the only way I could get the guy to stay still when I was shooting. Now he thinks he gets treats whenever he sees me hold the camcorder, haha. Fun times.
