An estimated 25,000 working K9s are actively deployed to protect our communities and take on dangers most of us never have to face.

These heroes cannot advocate for themselves. Helping protect and care for them is up to all of us.

There are many ways to support America’s working dogs, and every gift helps fund the programs that keep them safer, stronger, and ready for the job.

Protect the pack. Their safety starts with you.

Working dogs in law enforcement, the military, and search and rescue step into danger every day to protect the people and communities they serve. They detect explosives, track armed suspects, search for the missing, and respond when every second matters.

Too many K9 teams still lack funding for quality protective gear, emergency medical care, and specialized training. That gap leaves these dogs facing risks they should never have to face alone.

We believe no K9 hero should be left vulnerable during or after service. Through donor-funded programs, we help provide life-saving ballistic vests, critical medical support, and advanced training to K9 teams across the country.

You can be part of that impact. Join Spike’s Pack today.

Spike’s Pack, today we celebrate 12 years of Spike’s K9 Fund. 🐺❤️

We began our mission with a promise to do better for the working dogs who risk their lives alongside their handlers.

Over the past 12 years, that promise has turned into providing ballistic protection, medical care, advanced training, and support for K9 teams all over the country.

We’re still here because handlers trust us with their partners, donors keep supporting us, and working K9s remind us every day why our mission is important.

Thank you to every handler and beneficiary who has welcomed us onto their team, and to every member of Spike’s Pack who has helped make this work possible.

There are still dogs waiting and much work left to do. We’re proud to do it all with you. 💌🐾

🚑🐕 TRAINING THAT CAN SAVE LIVES!

Recently, K9 Kota and Ofc. Nowicke attended Spike’s K9 Fund’s K9 Emergency Medical Course, gaining valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in providing critical medical care to working dogs in the field.

From recognizing and treating traumatic injuries to managing heat-related emergencies, wound care, stabilization, and emergency evacuation, this training equips handlers with the skills needed to respond when seconds matter and our partners need us most.

Through the support of Spike’s K9 Fund (@spikesk9fund) and its Spike’s School program, K9 teams can access high-quality, specialized training at no cost to their handlers or departments. This is an incredible resource that helps our foundation support the continued development, safety, and readiness of our K9 teams without placing an additional financial burden on our officers or department.

Our K9 partners put themselves on the line every day to protect our communities. It’s our responsibility to make sure we have the training and tools necessary to protect them in return.

A huge thank you to Spike’s K9 Fund, the instructors, and the donors who make opportunities like this possible. Investing in our handlers means investing in the safety and well-being of our four-legged partners. 🐾

Meet K9 Luna, a happy-go-lucky, high-drive two-year-old Australian Shepherd serving with the Garfield County Search and Rescue (SAR) team. 🐺

Although not yet deployed, K9 Luna earned her HRD Type III/IV certification earlier in May this year, which means she is ready to perform her duties as a Human Remains Detection canine.

According to her handler, SAR K9s should train like they deploy. Using the vest daily will allow them to feel comfortable in it while protecting them as they train through hazardous environments.

Right now, K9 Luna is on the waitlist for a ballistic vest through our K9 Krijger Ballistic Vest Program.

With YOUR support, we can help provide a custom @k9storminc vest designed to protect her as she builds her skills and experience.

☑️ Sponsor K9 Luna’s vest: $3,500
☑️ Become a Partner in Protecton: $1,750

Full and co-sponsors can add custom embroidery to the vest as a lasting mark of their support.
