What started as a moodboard, drawings, references and long conversations turned into the centerpiece of SPIN. Our record shelf is storage, DJ booth and home for the JBL 4341 speakers at the same time.

Designed and planned by Lena Winterholler (@lenawinterholler) and Jerome Irlbeck (@schr0mmi) and built with precision and patience by @holzloewe_schreinerei

Swipe to see some bts of the process: early plans, renderings, workshop moments and the final build up in the Bar, including putting up the speakers.

The shelf holds up to 2,000 records. Cable outlets are integrated throughout. It includes internal storage and built-in drawers. The DJ booth can be rotated and pulled out. We are so happy about it every time we start our shift 🙂‍↕️

The second edition of our album listening session with Yannick Niang is happening this Thursday!

Yannick will bring an Album of his choice and we will listen to it together track by track.
Between the songs, Yannick will give some context and tell stories about the songs, the production, etc.

So: cancel whatever else you had planned and join this listening session.

We‘re open every (!) day this weekend: from Thursday to Sunday (from 6PM) for the full Easter experience at SPIN.

We are looking forward to excellent music selections each night by local record enthusiasts.

PS: Try our Umeshu Negroni (slides 2 & 3): it’s delicious and lets you slide through the night smoothly 🏄‍♀️

Next Thursday, March 12 we’re hosting our first proper listening session at SPIN with Yannick Niang (@yallah.san)

Yannick will bring an album of his choice and we’ll listen to it together track by track. Between the tracks we’ll talk about the story of the songs, the production, etc. while Yannick shares some context. Everyone in the room is welcome to join the discussion and contribute.

Thursdays at SPIN are for albums, compilations and whatever we pull from the shelf, anything that deserves a full listen. No matter what genre.
On Fridays and Saturdays, the booth goes to handpicked selectors and it’s not about transitions, it’s about the records they bring.

Every day we switch on our sound system, we’re happy to be using our @resorelectronics rotary mixer. Fully analog, hand-assembled in Berlin. It’s all about sound quality, so it’s a perfect match for vinyl and our analog vintage setup. Come by and listen to it yourself!
