The passing of my best buddy, Moose, has been the hardest thing to accept. The emptiness + pain isn’t even half of what i’ve been feeling. I always told him he would live forever as I couldnt imagine life without him. His whole existence gave me so much comfort, and happiness that i only wanted to give Moose the best life.

He was not your typical pom, and he was practically mute. I loved that he was all black, w a small white patch on his chest and mouth. He loved treats, but knew he could only get them when he was on his best behavior. And Moose was always a good boy.

He was there during the hardest of times, and when i was at my most weakest. I could always count on him to put a smile on my face. I feel selfish thinking that I can longer look for him for emotional support, or to fill the void when i’m feeling sad. My days have felt so lonely, and quiet as he was always the first to wish me a good morning. His eyes and his face looking up to me is what i miss the most knowing he needed me as much as I needed him. I can replay all his little grunts, and awkward noises when he needed something. But he was never aggressive and was always patient. As mute as Moose was, he was by far the silliest. He had this awkward way of sitting in the corner or pressed up on the couch. And he would just sit there quietly hoping/not hoping you would notice him. Being outside was his most favorite thing to do. Moosie was able to see the ocean, desert, and snow during his short lifetime. Simple dog though, he only loved long walks around the neighborhood. He loved everyone, and although he may have had a short attitude - he was still the sweetest dog.

Moose was one of a kind, and there will never be another like him. Thank you Mr. Moose for tolerating all my hugs, kisses, hard cuddles, etc. My heart is broken but I know my little Moosie is still around. He was an integral part of me and my family and I miss him so much 🖤💔 Love you always Moose!

Today we celebrate his 6th birthday, and I know he’s getting all the love and treats in doggy heaven 🖤

There was a lot of pain behind that smile I put on at the finish line 🥴

Fun fact! I do not run regularly. I saw an opportunity and registered for a half. Even with less than 12 weeks of training, I was not ready. I had to keep my mindset strong knowing that my body was not, lol. Im still recovering, and still icing the knees. But hey I ran the 13.1 miles in 3 hours - that’s a win for me 🐢 by @spinniecooper
