This month marks the one yearversary of Rose Gray’s “A Little Louder, Please!”

A perfect time to spin (louder) and celebrate an era that gave us so many bangers, while warming up for the next chapter (which, judging by the songs she’s already released, is off to a pretty incredible start).

@rosegray_, we’re ready for this new chapter!

One of the most ambitious albums Yungblud has released, and definitely one that deserves to be listened to from beginning to end.

I picked my Top 5 favorite tracks (plus one bonus pick 👀), and I also had to show off this gorgeous liquid-filled pressing, easily one of the coolest records in my collection 🖤

I think “Middle of Nowhere” is Kacey Musgraves at her most comfortable (and tbh, that’s exactly what makes this album so good to me).

I liked how it feels like a natural next chapter after “Deeper Well”. That album felt like Kacey figuring herself out, healing, setting boundaries and trying to understand what she actually wanted. Here, it feels like she finally got there and went, “you know what? I actually like being on my own.”

It’s less dreamy than “Deeper Well” and, at times, way more playful. And I think that’s probably my favorite thing about it: she doesn’t take herself too seriously. Songs like “Dry Spell” are funny, horny and completely unserious, while others like “Loneliest Girl” and “Coyote” bring back that melancholic Kacey I love.

The title track is probably the song that sums everything up for me. Being in the “middle of nowhere” usually sounds like you’re lost, but here it feels almost like a choice. Like, maybe I don’t know exactly where I’m going, but I’m actually pretty happy right here.

I don’t think this is Kacey’s most heartbreaking or groundbreaking album, but I don’t think it’s trying to be. And honestly, I think that’s the whole point.

It’s basically Kacey saying: I’m somewhere in the middle of nowhere, I don’t really know what’s next… and I’m completely fine with that.

Studio Ghibli soundtracks are honestly on another level 🖤 Even without the visuals, these records can transport you straight back into those worlds. Joe Hisaishi really created something timeless.

Definitely some of my favorite soundtrack records in my collection. What’s your favorite Studio Ghibli movie? by @spinwithraul

[ENG]

“Bossa Sempre Nova” is a really interesting album in Luísa Sonza’s career because it feels like a completely different universe from the pop sound she’s known for. The album was recently released as a collaboration with two legends of Brazilian music: Roberto Menescal and Toquinho.

The idea behind the project is to dive into classic bossa nova. Instead of creating a modern take on the genre, Luísa focuses on reinterpreting classics like “Águas de Março,” “Samba de Verão,” “Carta ao Tom 74,” and “Consolação.”

This isn’t an album about chasing a huge commercial impact; it feels more like an artistic statement. In a silly comparison, it’s almost like Gaga doing jazz. There’s no real expectation of pleasing her existing fanbase, it’s more about showing another side of her artistry and reaching a new audience.

In the end, “Bossa Sempre Nova” is an unexpected project, but one that connects deeply with the tradition of Brazilian music.

To infinity…and back to my childhood 🚀✨

Toy Story came out when I was 4, and Woody & Buzz were a huge part of my childhood. So I don’t really need to explain how much this zoetrope vinyl is basically nostalgia spinning on my turntable, right?! 🖤

Picking just one favorite from each season of “This Music Contains Hope” felt almost impossible…but here’s where I landed (for now)

My favs have changed a dozen times already, and honestly, ask me again next week and the answers might be completely different.

For now, these are the songs I keep coming back to 🖤

What’s your favorite from each season?
