Lately, I’ve been feeling myself somewhere in between. In a space they call liminal.

I’m more connected to myself. More able to hear what my body is asking for. I feel more space to dream, imagine and feel.

But I’m not fully on the other side of the threshold either.

I think this is what liminal space feels like for me.
Not being who I was anymore, but not quite knowing who I’m becoming yet.

One of the most important things I’ve learned through my healing work with @somiainternational is how to listen to my body and actually respond to what I find there.

Jen once said in a live video, around two years ago, “When prescription becomes intuition, real healing happens.”

That sentence has stayed with me.

I used to practice tools I learned to get more connected to myself through neuroplasticity and somatics with my head a lot of the time. What I mean is that I was overthinking “what tools do ai use now?” I was scared to get it wrong. Now, more and more, I’m learning to notice what I need and let my body guide me.

Sometimes that means movement. Sometimes touch. Sometimes lying on the ground. Sometimes making space for an emotion. And sometimes it means doing absolutely nothing and letting myself be where I am.

The trust I got to build in my body and myself, has become a huge part of my healing journey.

By the way I’m not sponsered to say this in any way. This is just appreciation and gratitude 🙏🏽 🐚 by @spiralimi

I’ve been thinking about what it actually means to heal.

In the beginning, I imagined healing as a journey with a clear ending. A point where there would be nothing left to fix.

Now I’m learning to see it more like a spiral. I can return to old wounds, patterns or pain without meaning I’ve gone backwards. I return with new awareness, more space, and a different relationship with myself.

Spirals appear throughout nature. One of my favourite examples is the nautilus, whose chambered shell grows outward as it moves through life. Those chambers also help regulate its buoyancy in the water.

Ammonites were extinct marine cephalopods with similarly beautiful, spiralling, chambered shells. That’s why I wear an ammonite fossil: as a little reminder that going back doesn’t always mean going backwards. 🌀

I’m learning about neuroplasticity, interoception and the nervous system, and sharing what I discover along the way. Not because I have it all figured out, but because I’m curious about what becomes possible when we meet ourselves with a little more kindness and show belief in ourselves. 🤍🐚🌀
