«Attempted Assault» — a new painting based on Gothic 2.

The Nameless One has already left Horis, but the war continues in the Ore Valley. The orcs are launching an assault on the castle: a siege ram at the gates, defenders on the walls, and an entire army at the foot of the fortress.

Oil on canvas, 40×50 cm.

The painting is for sale. If you’d like to have a piece of the Ore Valley in your home, write to me in private messages.

Do you think the orcs would have been able to take the castle? by @spiridon_58

Recently, the third Gothic Tales Convention was held in Germany — a large gathering of Gothic fans with Pen&Paper, quests, the “Dead Harpy” tavern, cosplay, sword fights, music, and other activities. The event took place from August 27–30 at the Binderburg venue in Jena.

And here’s what’s especially nice. The son of my customer from Germany became one of the participants who received a unique hardcover copy of the Gothic Tales book as an award. And my painting “By the Fire” was published on its pages.

In the acknowledgments section, I am listed as an oil painter — Michael (Mikhail, Spiridon_58). And next on the list, next to my name, is Ralf Marczinczik, one of the artists who shaped the visual identity of Gothic at Piranha Bytes.

It’s a great honor for me to see my painting in an actual printed edition about the Gothic universe, and right next to the person whose work I was inspired by.

Thank you to the organizers of Gothic Tales for the opportunity to share my work, and to my client.
