Barcelona set the stage for an important question: How can we evaluate the spaces we inhabit from a biocompatibility perspective?
At SIS Congress 2026, held as part of Bio-Well’s 30 Years of Innovation celebration, Joaquín Machado presented his lecture:
“GDV Field Measurement: Practical Applications for Space Biocompatibility Accreditation”
During his presentation, Joaquín shared practical applications of GDV measurement to assess different environmental conditions and explore how they may relate to the responses of the people who occupy those spaces.
A perspective that connects measurement, research, and the environment, opening new possibilities for advancing toward increasingly biocompatible spaces.
Thank you to Bio-Well, the organizers of SIS Congress 2026, and everyone who joined us in Barcelona for this gathering.
We keep researching. We keep measuring. We keep working to better understand the spaces we inhabit.

In 2016, IGEF Certification Centre assessed 10 SPIRO® Disc Ultra users on a Heart Rate Variability (HRV) score. The score measures how well heart rate adapts to each breath, compared with people of the same age and sex, on a scale of 0 to 100%.

The average baseline was 32.3%. At the first follow-up measurement, between days 5 and 27, it rose to 42.7%. By each participant’s last reading, between days 17 and 31, it reached 55.2%, which is 22.9 points above baseline. All 10 participants reached a score higher than baseline, and 9 of 10 finished above where they started.

The less artificial electromagnetic noise there is in your space, the less your body has to compensate for. That’s what SPIRO® Disc Ultra is built for, filtering the noise around the devices you live and work with every day.

It’s the most powerful filter in the SPIRO® line, made for larger spaces, homes near strong sources, and anyone who has Electrohypersensitivity (EHS).

Just because you don’t feel it, doesn’t mean its not affecting you. Even then there are people who do feel it.

Those people suffer from EHS: electromagnetic hypersensitivity. The experiences are real. The direct link to electromagnetic fields is still being studied, and while that work continues, there’s a more useful question to ask, and it’s about the room itself.

Most rooms today hold more than one source: the router, the smart TV, the laptop, the phones charging on the side table. Each one adds two things to the space. Close to the device, there’s a direct electrical stimulus. Across the whole room, artificial electromagnetic noise keeps building.

SPIRO® Disc Ultra is made for exactly that kind of room. It’s the highest-capacity filter in the line, with 95 SPIRO films in five layers. Place it close to the room’s main device, inside its near-field, where it filters electromagnetic noise and depolarizes the electric fields around it.

Look at your space as a whole, and start with the room where the most devices live.

Your router doesn’t need to sit on the desk where you work or the shelf beside your couch.

Wi-Fi is built to travel. The signal spreads through the whole house and passes through walls, which is why your phone can connect even when the router is in another room. That reach gives you a choice about where it goes.

Moving it away from where you spend the most time helps take you out of its near field, the zone right around the device where its direct electrical stimulus is strongest. Distance handles only part of it. The signal that reaches other rooms can also carry artificial electromagnetic noise.

That’s why a well-placed router still needs SPIRO®. Set right next to the router, it helps filter the artificial electromagnetic pollution in what the router emits and lower the load in the spaces where you spend the most time, without blocking the signal or interfering with how you normally use your devices.

Three suggestions for this week:
· Avoid keeping the router in the bedroom.
· Put it somewhere central and open, away from where you sleep, work, or spend long hours.
· Place a SPIRO® Disc right beside the router.

Tell us in the comments where your router lives right now.

An electrical system can be working and still need to be reviewed.

Over the years, we add more appliances, chargers, air-conditioning systems, LED lighting, and electronic devices. But many home electrical installations were designed for a very different level of demand than what we use today.

That is why, within electromagnetic hygiene, it is not enough to look only at the devices we use. It also matters how the electrical system that powers them is organized.

A proper review can help check load distribution, wiring condition and routing, polarity, connections, and grounding quality. The book also recommends paying attention to extension cords used as permanent solutions, coiled cables, loose connections, and circuits carrying too many devices.

For example, high-demand equipment such as air conditioners, ovens, refrigeration systems, or washers should not all be placed indiscriminately on the same circuit. Better load distribution helps the electrical system operate in a more organized way and reduces issues related to overload and interference within the installation.

Grounding is also part of that review. It is not only about having a third prong on an outlet, but about verifying that the installation has a real, continuous, and properly executed grounding system.

Another important habit is to avoid letting extension cords, power strips, or improvised wiring become permanent parts of the home, especially near beds, desks, and other areas where we spend many hours.

That is why having your electrical system reviewed by a qualified professional is also part of caring for your environment. You do not need to wait for a failure before asking whether the installation still meets the current needs of your home.

Your electrical system needs a checkup too.

The story of NOXTAK® began at home, with an experience of electromagnetic hypersensitivity that opened a deeper search for real answers.
Along the way, Joaquín Machado understood that many people with electromagnetic hypersensitivity need more than simply reducing exposure. They need a more comprehensive approach to the environment where they live, rest, work, and recover.
Electromagnetic hypersensitivity is not addressed through a single formula or an immediate solution. Each person responds differently, and changes in the body may require weeks or months of support, observation, and adjustment.
That is why NOXTAK® evolved into a more complete protocol: identifying sources, improving spaces, applying electromagnetic hygiene, and strategically filtering artificial electromagnetic pollution.
The goal is to help sensitive people regain more stability in daily life, without being limited by a technological environment that is already part of modern living.

What has changed is the kind of environment we spend so many hours in.

On any ordinary evening, a single living room can hold a router, a smart TV, a phone on the charger, a laptop, Bluetooth earbuds, LED lights, and a handful of other connected devices, all running at once.

All of it is part of the space where you work, rest, talk, and spend your day.

That is the part worth paying attention to: it isn’t only about the technology itself, but about the quality of the environment that technology creates around you.

SPIRO® sits close to your devices and filters the artificial electromagnetic noise in the space, without blocking your connection or interfering with how your devices work.

You stay connected, in a better-filtered space.

Take a look around your living room tonight: what’s still on when no one is using it?

We spend much of the day separated from direct contact with the Earth. And even though we may not see it, our bodies also interact electrically with the environment around us.

Walking barefoot on soil, grass, or sand is a simple habit that can help reduce some of the voltage induced in the body and support a more stable electrical state.

But electromagnetic hygiene is not about one single action.

Grounding, together with healthy habits and the proper application of the SPIRO® System, can be part of a more complete approach to improving the quality of the environment where your body spends so many hours each day.

Because when we talk about balance, the environment surrounding our biology matters too.

Learn how to apply the SPIRO® System in your spaces.

Wireless headphones made one thing very convenient: they removed the cable. But they also placed a radiofrequency source very close to the ear during calls, meetings, music, or podcasts.

And there is an important point here: when we talk about exposure, it is not only the device that matters. Distance and duration of use matter too.

Bluetooth headphones are used directly next to the auditory system and, in many cases, for several hours a day. That combination of proximity and prolonged use is exactly why this habit deserves attention within electromagnetic hygiene.

The chapter dedicated to this habit also discusses research on radiofrequency exposure and the auditory system, including possible links with changes in brain activity, oxidative stress in auditory structures, and tinnitus.

That is why one simple measure is to change the type of connection whenever possible.

Choosing wired headphones allows you to keep listening to music, working, or taking calls without keeping an active Bluetooth transmission right next to your ear. You can also alternate with speakerphone, take breaks if you use headphones for long periods, and keep the volume low.

This is not about turning Bluetooth headphones into an enemy or avoiding them completely. It is about reviewing how long you use them, how close they remain to the body, and when you can choose a simpler alternative.

Electromagnetic hygiene is also built through these everyday decisions.

Make your headphones a conscious choice.
Choose wired instead of Bluetooth.
