Our friend @deidrasullivan2 opens her first solo show, Surface Memory, exhibiting at @patakaartmuseum this Saturday. Surface Memory will be running till the 30th of August. Deidra uses alternative photographic processes to investigate light interacting with objects, time and chance. Kia ora splendid whānau. We’d like to share an important update - on Friday, our Te Whanganui-a-Tara store unfortunately experienced a C41 processor breakdown, where our processor didn’t turn on. Our technician hasn’t been able to get it back online, so we are currently sending films up to our Tāmaki Makaurau store to get these back to you ASAP. This means there will be a delay in getting your scans back to you. Over the next couple of days we will contact each affected customer. The good news is that we are working on getting a new processor in place where hopefully we will not experience the breakdowns that we usually face with these old machines. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes, this is just a kick in the shins especially with this current economic climate we are in. We hope we can resume our regular C41 colour services soon. Our black and white process will continue as normal (obvs ❤️).Bear with us and go and shoot some b&w film x by @splendid.nz

Shooting film on a budget is possible. Our Splendid 400 and Splendid 200 deal means that you can shoot film and develop it for $35. How does it work?When you purchase a roll of Splendid 400 or Splendid 200, you prepay for the developing and scanning in the price of the roll ($35). It has our sticker on it to indicate that you have prepaid for social resolution scans & 1week turnaround, so when you drop it off, we know what’s up.Also a great gift for your friends and whānau that shoot film.
