Life hit me with a very large curve ball almost 2 years ago and I’ve observed and witnessed many people having different responses to it. Some are ‘deconstructing’ and trying to still decide whether Christianity is for them, some have decided to give it up all together. But despite all that I’ve faced I still have the same question as a response.

Weeping and sadness isn’t a lack of faith. It’s not weakness, it’s not unheard of and it’s not unholy. Grief is real and it sucks. It’s heartbreaking and will never truly feel normal. But there is a peace that we have been promised. He’s a person who brings the best comfort during the hardest times. To the one who is grieving, refuse the pressure to accept your devastating loss on anyone else’s time except your own. Feel your feelings and cry out to the One who sees you.

A lot more faith spaces need to be more open and stop making the topic of sexuality ESPECIALLY for women a taboo! We have been called to live in freedom but instead some of us have been taught to cover our broken hearts with a plaster called tongues and 21 Day fasts that leave us with more capacity but the parts of our hearts that are broken untouched!
