Ashen Carnival - “A Circus Forming from the Wasteland”- KO Yutung Solo exhibition

20251202~20260110

It appears to be a human figure, yet it has a doll-like face. Viewers can quietly take time to feel and imagine.

The artist uses Eastern gouache.

This medium can be traced back to the Warring States period in China, when people used this pigment for painting, and it later flourished during the Tang Dynasty. by @spontaneousartspace

The beehive, the smallest complete universe.

LIN Ran really enjoys creating hexagonal works.

Because, it is said, the hexagon is the smallest complete universe; it is the wisdom of the beehive, the Zen of a snowflake.

Everything is hidden within this equilateral rhythm. This is her favorite geometric shape, holding the secret relationship between Mount Sumeru and a mustard seed.

Grateful for nature, all things, and the universe. We are all one.

LIN Ran uses her creations to express people‘s pursuit of a better life, focusing on inner cultivation and not being disturbed by the outside world, allowing for inner peace and tranquility.

Her works employ narrative, storytelling, sociological, and textual methodologies to explore and discuss the spaces and theater of modern society, feminism, trans-gender art, group psychology, and collective memory.
