Straight out of uni, I decided to volunteer with the teenagers in my church in Nigeria. Nothing major just helping the teachers and youth leaders wherever I could. But somewhere along the way, I realised how much I genuinely loved working with young people. ❤️

I grew up with guidance and mentorship, and I know firsthand what having the right people, the right words and the right direction at the right time can do for a young person. So, for about six years now, I’ve served as a youth teacher and continued to work around youth development, mentorship and advocacy. It has become one of those ministries I hold very personally and very close to my heart.

I still consider myself a young person 😂, but I strongly believe that with the right guidance, opportunities, responsibility and support, young people can do extraordinary things.

So it was such a delight to be invited by @agape_luton to speak to their teenagers during their Teenage Weekend themed “Called Out.” Of course, I made a little vlog out of it because apparently we’re in our speaking-engagement era now 😂 and I’m very happy to be here.

I don’t know if I particularly like calling myself a mentor🤣. I think I prefer a guide, a voice, someone in their corner someone who can relate, listen and share experiences, wisdom and practical ways of navigating this very interesting season of life.

And while we’re here, some accountability please 😭 I’ve been working on a book for young people navigating their teens and twenties, and I genuinely believe in what this project can become. So yes, you all have permission to ask me, “Where is the book?” 😂

Here’s to pouring into the generation coming behind us while still becoming ourselves. ❤️
