Cat for Day 19 of #mabsdrawlloweenclub26

So here's a cat. I'm not a cat person so I feel like I draw cats the way that medieval artists drew animals they'd heard of and never seen.

But of course, I've seen cats...

Anyway, meow

"... AND FINALLY, after so very many years, so many generations, so much faith, hope...

and sacrifice.

Finally....

The Great Pumpkin appeared.

It was not as the texts had foretold..."

So I was flummoxed (ain't that a cool word?) with Day 16 of #mabsdrawlloweenclub2026 "Histhorrorical". Since I handle the demon cash everyday, I thought I would transform old Benjamin Franklin a bit ..

My version is definitely not legal tender...

Swipe for a comparison with the original Benjamin.

Floating along so close to the ground
Six tiny terrors make not a sound
Are they spirits of blackbirds
Or spectres of rats?
The phantoms of beetles
Dispatched by black cats?
Is each of the figures the ghost of a mouse?

No...

Just six tiny terrors on the way to YOUR house!

No offense to actual witches -- who are some of THE most gloriously wonderful, lovely folks around -- but here's a traditional Halloween witch for Day 14 of #mabsdrawlloweenclub2026 . As always, thanks to @mabgraves for bringing us together!!

I have more witches to post later, for a "split prompt" post, so keep your peepers peeping!

Mirror is the prompt for Day 13 of #mabsdrawlloweenclub. For this piece I was inspired by "Self-Portrait with Death Playing the Fiddle" (1872) by the Swiss symbolist artist Arnold Böcklin (thanks to @inspiraggio for introducing me to this art).

Mine is also a self-portrait. What do you think Death is whispering?

Thanks for checking out the art, and if you feel so inclined, give me a follow and turn on the notifications.

And thanks as always to @mabgraves for hosting!

Already day 11 of #mabsdrawlloweenclub . Today's prompt is yokai. I chose Karakasa kozō, which is a transformation of a Chinese-style oiled-paper umbrellas. They have a single large eye, a long, protruding tongue, and either one or two legs upon which they hop around wildly.

Mine is, of course, sassy.

It's the most frabjous day of the entire #mabsdrawlloweenclub2026 : Day 10, JABBERWOCKY

If you've read the nonsense Lewis Carroll poem you know that it doesn't really describe the Jabberwocky:

"And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!"

It usually is depicted as dragon-like, but if anything I took inspiration from Ghidorah. Sassy, thiicc Ghidorah 😀

Hope your borogoves are hella mimsy and you burble as you come,
