Summer wrap-up post for posterity. I feel so lucky that I get to live this life with a family that loves adventure and has the determination to live it. From backpacking the Trans Catalina Trail, backpacking on San Jacinto with Ryan and Luc for their first overnight trip complete with a summit of my favorite socal peak, to fishing and boat camping with Lucas at the local islands, local offshore, and out of the golden gate, to camping in Moab UT while the world around us burned, and getting rousted by a fire from Canyonlands without knowing where we were going to post up that night, camping and climbing in Yosemite and scrambling the old sierra point trail or sitting in the Tuolomne river basking in the sun, headlining the garden amp during a nearby evacuation while a chemical tank was ready to explode at any moment, tugging on yellowtail and king salmon or just feeling quesy from the boat rocking, finishing up with the Orange International Street Fair weekend and all it's festivities... Wild times and 2 thumbs up. by @spoonermcgavin

Let’s do this! It’s perfect weather for beer and Sublime …. We’re on Main Stage at 3:15pm playing an hour of Sublime. Be there #sublime #sublimetribute #89vision #lookatallthelovewefound by @spoonermcgavin

We’re playing twice in our hometown during Orange International Street Fair weekend!
Friday, Sept. 4th we’ll be at Chapman Crafted for the Street Fair Night 1 Party/After Party from 8–11pm. We’re digging a little deeper for this one — B-sides, deeper cuts and more, with DJ Sollos spinning vinyl.
Then Sunday, Sept. 6th we hit the Orange International Street Fair Main Stage at 3:15pm with a family-friendly set packed with the Sublime hits.

Camping at San Clemente Island catching squid and trying to hook up with the bruiser yellows that have been hanging around. Made squid no prob but the yellows were a no-go, lock jaw even though I marked them consistently the whole time. They were hanging out under the boat but not biting. Pulled some red vermilion on the way home so I didn’t come home empty handed. Missed the space x launch with my head down catching squid to boot. Doh! by @spoonermcgavin

Rim to rim… killer journey, Jen and I ditched the kids and spent 3 days going from north rim to south rim. What an experience. 10/10 would recommend. by @spoonermcgavin
