👩🏻‍🦰 Gretch'n and 🧑🏻‍🚀🚙 I drive often to 🌃 St. Charles Illinois. 🧑 My father as a young man in his 20's 🎒 escaped the 🫩🌵 boredom of Texas and came to 🦹🏻🦸🏻🦹🏻🦸🏻🧞 Chicago and the surrounding area for energy and he found it in the late 1960's.🕵🏻✅

🗣️ Long story short we randomly found this GLORIOUS🥇🤤🥇🥇 Thai restaurant 🏤 and I imagine 🫅Dad is here with us each time....🤔 Perhaps wondering 👀 if he can bring Flour Tortillas 😆😆🫓 to eat his curry with. 🥣🤷.

🩵🤍❤️🌃 🧑🏻‍🚀✍🏻 🌃♥️🤍🩵

🧒🏻 As a child I remember there wasn't a strong smell coming up 👃🏻🫁 from my chocolate milk 🍫🥛🍫, but there was from my father's fresh cup of 🏪☕ diner counter coffee with cream. 🐄.

😔 I close my eyes over my cup now ☕ and I swear I can 👂🏻 hear the crinkle sounds🔊 of His weekend newspaper 📰👑 🗞️.

✍🏻 Just a simple recollection of my father drinking coffee ☕📰 in order to deal with raising , ❤️‍🔥loving, and 🫂 caring for a loveable but sneaky kid . 😁🥹

🤔 I can't remember with precision what all we ate at Handlebar 🚲🥗🍽️🚲besides the Vegan fried pickles 🥒⚡🥒 which were glorious 💎but everything else was magnificent also. 🤤🤤

🤔 Fried green tomatoes 🍅🍅🍅, etc etc etc 🤤🤤😔😱 and the colors ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥.

🧒🏻 Growing up I loved Spam 🟦🟨 . When both Mom 🧛🏼‍♀️and Dad🧛🏼 were at work 💼🧥⛑️ it was very easy to make a sandwich 🥄🥪 with Spam 🟨🟦 and then we'd all run back outside to play🚴🏼🤼‍♀️🪂🥏🛹🪁 until our FOOTS fell off 😁.🦶🏼🦶🏼

( 🇩🇪👓 Foots is what my dear friend gGina in Germany📍🌎 would say when she was learning English / 📚🧠📖 don't worry after my help she now says FEETS 😅😅)

😔Anyways when I was 🧒🏻 9 years of age I was trying my best😖🤔🧠 to get the older girls 👯‍♂️🧑🏻‍🐰‍🧑🏽🧚🏻💃🏻 to notice me and I can honestly say with🦹🏻🦹🏻 great confidence that NOTHING gets an older girl or any girl to notice🔎🔍 you than 😨 FALLING OUT OF A TREE 🌲⛑️ AND THEN 😭😩 Crying in such a way that sounded like someone trying to start the engine on a 75 year old tractor 🚜🥼🩻💊🚜

🗓️ Long long ago I wheeled 🚲🧒🏻🛞🛴 myself thru the UNFORGIVING 🥵🌋🏜️ summer heat on a department store 🏪🚲 BMX Bike like most kids . 👨🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼🧑‍🤝‍🧑🧑🏻‍🐰‍🧑🏽 ( all scorching Summer 🩳🌞 Long).

😔 I was a poor but decently 🧒🏻 happy kid which on occasion had enough coins 💰 in my pocket for 🪙🪙 a 50¢ fried 🍑 peach pie followed by 1 decision...🤔 do I myself eat 🦷🦷 it all or save a 🤏🏻 portion for a lonely friend 🫂 or a cousin 🐍🎀 ?

🧒🏻 At 10 years of age I recall riding my bicycle 🚲 to this in town BBQ burger joint 🏪🍔💨🍔 and I'd stop 🛑. I'd stand in the 🌲 tree shade, close my eyes and 👃🏼🫁 i'd breathe in the smoked burgers and 😔 I'd imagine eating the smoke 🍴💨💨🔪 and feel the 🧊🥶🧊 air conditioning on my molten skin.🌋🦵🏼🦶🏼🌋

📍A handful of years ago 🗓️✈️ I went alone to this Smoked burger house 💨🍔 with my departed father's spirit in tow 🪦🌹. I walked to the 🪜upstairs tables and sat my chair🪑🧭 in the direction 10 year old me🧒🏻🚲 would've been standing with his bike on the street beyond the walls 🧱🧱. With eyes closed 😔🦷 with each bite , I ate this for 10 year old him, 10 year old me.

❌🖊️❌ I know My writing is heavily peppered with poor punctuation 📉 and spelling and goblin handled grammar but this shortcoming 🚫 cannot stop me from✍🏻✍🏻 expressing myself nor should it you ,😔🙏🏼 If this too is your cross to carry.

☢️ And yes I could use 🤖💻 Artificial Intelligence to correct my 🗣️🤏🏻 small stories errors, 🙋🏻but then IT (🤖ai💻) would be the real recipient of 👏🏻👏🏻 the applause, 🦹🏻🧌🦹🏻I'll choose the badge of my damaged, HUMAN heartfelt, and life lived written words everyday.

📍 It's the largest bakery 🧑🏼‍🍳🏭🏭👨‍🍳👩🏾‍🍳 in the United States and they make many 🍰🍮🎂different cakes and 🍪🍪 cookies and 🍞🥐🥖🥯🧇 bread etc and when 🚙🚙 I drive past here on the 🌃🌃🌃 Southside of Chicago 🩵🤍❤️, I make sure to roll my window ( by hand ⚙️🪟) and I STICK MY 👃🏻👃🏻🐽 NOSE OUT INTO THE NIGHT SKY.🌌🌌🌌🌌🌛🌌🌌🌌....🤤🤤 and inhale.
