Fusing storytelling & technology, we make sport’s positive values accessible to everyone, no matter background, gender, or ability. #ScienceWithSoul

POSTS STORIES REELS

On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who refuse to stand by 💜

This carousel honors some of the women who participated in and helped shape our October Symposium, held in memory of Rebecca Cheptegei, whose life was taken through gender-based violence.

Their presence reminds us what #RefuseToDoNothing looks like: women showing up, supporting one another, and working together to break barriers and create safer, more equitable environments in sport and beyond.

Because progress doesn’t happen by chance.
It happens because people choose to act.
Today we celebrate the women who keep pushing this work forward - for sport, and for everyone.

You may not know her name, but Rebecca Cheptegei’s story lives with us all.

A mother. A first-time Olympian. A teammate in the global sports community. After her Olympic debut in Paris 2024, Rebecca was tragically killed - an unthinkable reminder of how unsafe sport can be for too many women and girls.

On October 12–13 at Stanford University, we gather not to mourn, but to mobilize. The inaugural Rebecca Cheptegei Symposium & Design Lab will bring together athletes, leaders, students, and YOU to reimagine what excellence in sport looks like - when joy, agency, and safety are non-negotiable. ✊🏽🧡

Stanford, we have arrived! Starting from November we have officially moved to a new home base. Now the Sports Equity Lab and the Stanford Center for Sports Equity (Knowledge, Research and Education) are located at Stanford University.

Our mission stays the same: Foster social justice, decency, and equity within the realm of sports. Through science (research), summits (community engagement), and stories (creative content), our aim is to make sport’s positive values accessible to everyone, regardless of background, gender, or (dis)ability.

Stay tuned for more to come!

When an Olympian speaks, we listen. When she advocates, we move. 🏃🏾‍♀️💨

Massive gratitude to @lesliemaxie88 for being a pillar of our Symposium in honor of Rebecca Cheptegei. Her voice is a catalyst for the change we need to see in the sporting world.

Thank you for your leadership and for helping us keep Rebecca’s legacy alive.

You cannot engineer a culture of care while policing athletes' bodies.

Thank you to Dr. Ali Miller and Dr. Marie-Fatima Hyacinthe from @humansofsport_org for joining our last monthly meeting to lead a critical discussion on the IOC's latest sex-testing policies and their impact on human rights.

We strongly encourage our community to explore the incredible research and advocacy tools at Humans of Sport to learn more about defending bodily autonomy in athletics. 🛑👟 by @sportsequitylab
