This is… …Castle Combe, Cotswolds. A single street of honey-stone cottages, a medieval market cross and a brook running through it all. Nothing has been built here since the 1600s, and that is exactly the point. At the top of the village sits The Manor House. A 14th-century estate on 365 acres, with Italian gardens, 50 rooms split between the main house and a row of mews cottages, and Bybrook, the restaurant that has held its Michelin star since 2017.
