We have to get very focused on solving this issue. Not talking about it. Not wishing it well. Doing something meaningful because we are about to have a city that doesn’t work for anyone. #whywegather taken in The Gathering Spot by @spotonrw

At this point, I feel like I have a PhD in getting bad news.
One of the most important skills I’ve developed as an entrepreneur is learning how to absorb a punch without losing my perspective.

Can you remember who you are, what you’ve already overcome, and that at one point you prayed for the opportunity to have some of the problems you’re facing today?

We can’t always control what happens next. But you can control who you become in response to it. #whywegather taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @spotonrw

Every October, we take our kids to a new national park. It’s a chance for them to see how big the world is and a reminder for us to keep expanding ours too.

We loved the Tetons last year. This year, we chose Sedona.

Amazing family experience. There’s something about changing what you see that changes what you can imagine. taken in Sedona, Arizona by @spotonrw

We’ve got to be more creative than ever to make our businesses work. Push beyond what you can do into what feels like impossible. Know the numbers and don’t give the house away. But push.

Budgets are getting set. Deals are getting done. Relationships are getting built. And if you’re behind on what you said you’d do this year, there’s still time to catch up. Time for Q4. #whywegather taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @spotonrw

A decade ago, Nikole Hannah-Jones made national news for enrolling her daughter, Najya, in one of Brooklyn’s most under-resourced schools. It was a deliberate stand against the very system she had spent her career writing about.
@nikolehannahjones

Now a teenager, Najya says she thinks her mother got it wrong.

The story has everyone talking because it names a decision Black parents are often left to make quietly and alone. This Thursday, @spotonrw brings that conversation to the table for a private members’ salon about the choices we make for our children and how those choices shape their connection to community and Blackness.

10-year anniversary trip to Mallorca. 10/10 would recommend.

Home base was @mo_mallorcapuntanegra with a rooftop private pool. Amazing meals at Leña, El Camino and Fera, and plenty of time to reflect on the last 10 years and dream about the next 10.

Thank you @kellyeisenman_ for your guidance!

Grateful. #whywegather taken in Palma De Mallorca, Spain by @spotonrw

Grateful that she saw the possibility of what @thegatheringspots could be and stuck it out with me. I get not marrying potential but maybe a little possibility. #whywegather taken in The Gathering Spot by @spotonrw
