We’re looking for mural walls in Lawrence!

The Native Mural Mentorship Project Team needs your help! We’re looking for visible walls, garage doors, or similar surfaces that could host a garage-door-scale mural, approximately 10 ft x 8 ft.

This project is fully funded through the Douglas County Natural and Cultural Heritage Grant Program (thanks ya’ll!)

This mural would be at no cost to the property owner for the artist fee or approved project materials.

By design, this project supports Native artists in creating public murals that center Native perspectives of this place now: land, water, community, cultural continuity, belonging, and future generations.

It is also a mentorship project, creating paid internship opportunities for emerging artists to see how public art moves from idea to approval to installation.
