Enfys in Bramble has arrived, and the Beltane Collection finally feels whole.
✹
That deep, burnt-hedgerow rust was the missing note. Set beside the soft round of Elowen in Dogrose and the green of the field, the colours stop being separate pieces and start to sound like one landscape, the crossing lines running from cushion to cushion like ribbons round a maypole.
✹
There are more Elowen colourways still to come, but this is the moment the collection began to feel like itself. taken in Winchester, Hampshire by @sprig_textiles

I've spent a lot of time lately picking myself apart. It's what we do, isn't it, when things get hard - turn inward and get smaller and smaller in our own head.

Photographing this work this week did the opposite. Every colour, every stripe, every stitch is proof of something I made with my own hands, out of a landscape I love, in a year that's asked a lot of me.

Beauty doesn't disappear when life gets difficult. It just waits, a bit patiently, for you to look up and notice it's still there. by @sprig_textiles

The sky gives up its last stars just as the hedgerows start to bloom, and somehow it's the same palette.
Eleri Blanket, in Dogrose - inspired by the awakening of spring, though I keep finding the same colours elsewhere: burnt pink caught in an early sunrise, that same blush and coral scattered through a wildflower meadow.

Every October in the UK is wool month - organised by @campaignforwool to celebrate wool and highlight the abundance of benefits wool has to offer, while also bringing focus to the wool industry.

Wool is one of the oldest fibres we know, and it still does things synthetics can't match:

✹ Warm, never stuffy.
Wool traps air to keep you cosy when it's cold and breathes when it isn't, so you never feel clammy or overheated.

 ✹ Kinder to your home.
Wool naturally resists odours, and it can absorb some common indoor pollutants.

✹ Needs less washing.
Its natural protective coating repels dirt, so a good airing is often all it asks for.

Ribbons crossing, wool unspooling, everything circling toward the centre. The collection is coming together like the bands of a maypole, everything is coming together exactly when it's intended to.
✹
The collection is nearly completed, and here's all the textile pieces currently available to buy now. You can see all the different colourways - Dogrose, Sorrel, Bramble and Rosehip. All a nod to the different seasons and what makes them all so special

Red Sky at Night
✹
The Eleri Blankets were made for the hour when the day turns over into evening, and for the weeks when old seasons give way to new. Deep berry red and burnt orange, with flashes of teal and gold running through like the last light at the edge of a hedgerow.

The playful spirit of Beltane is captured in soft, dense lambswool, designed in Hampshire and made in small batches, in Scotland.

The nights are drawing in, but these cushions have Beltane spun into them. Cosy, jewel-bright and full of hope, for the days when you need a reminder that light is coming back.

Swipe for the back story behind these cushion designs.

The Enfys begins with a maypole. Ribbons crossing, weaving, turning - colour gathering toward a fixed point as the seasons shift beneath it.

Bramble takes its name from the tangled, thorned hedgerow baring fruit that ripens as summer turns to autumn - and it is that deep, sun-warmed rust that grounds the cushion, the colour of leaves just beginning to turn. Across it run bands of clay pink, deep berry purple, bejewelled turquoise and zingy lime, crossing at a single point like fruit caught mid-ripen among the brambles.

Named with the Cornish word for elm, Elowen carries the crossing lines of the maypole — that old dance of ribbons winding and unwinding, thread over thread, season over season.

Dogrose is a colourway that holds a glowing burnt pink that looks firmly toward the warmer months, holding the particular warmth of a long summer afternoon in its wool. On the pink resides bands of teal, blush, terracotta and gold run across a warm ground. taken in Winchester, Hampshire by @sprig_textiles

The Elowen Scatter Cushions are coming soon!

Named with the Cornish word for elm, Elowen carries the crossing lines of the maypole — that old dance of ribbons winding and unwinding, thread over thread, season over season.

Shown here in Dogrose, Elowen also comes in Rosehip, Sorrel and Bramble — four colourways for four turns of the year. Knitted in lambswool and finished with a zip, and made to be lived with, not just looked at.

These scatter cushions will be completing The Beltane Collection, just as the season starts to turn. taken in Watercress Way by @sprig_textiles
