Bij de Brusselse @jezebel.studio groeit de paaldanscommunity als kool. Maar het gaat in deze paaldansschool om meer dan zwoele bewegingen rond een statisch object, schrijven begeleiders Spring Leyssens en Nina Poels. Samen met Mathilde Cominotto richtten ze twee jaar geleden de studio op. Wat mensen naar de paal trekt? Kracht. Voor veel queer en femme personen is het beklimmen van die paal een fysieke én mentale overwinning. Is dat dan sowieso empowerment?

Giu Paluku-Atoka @giu_404 est un artiste autodidacte basé à Bruxelles. Il a rédigé un recueil de poèmes intitulé *Mourir/Lutter/Vivre/Aimer* (inédit) lors d’une résidence à Archipel 19 en décembre 2019. Il écrit actuellement une pièce de théâtre intitulée *Joyful Mourning*. Ce spectacle s’inscrit dans le cadre de cette pièce qui aborde la question des classes sociales sous toutes leurs formes. 🪐

The Sunday Boïs Club and HOTSPOT The Show are bringing you a series of workshops focused on creating space, skills and stage time for transmasc, masculine-of-center and questioning bodies to explore masc coded movement and ërotic energy on stage.

📢 Bookable immediately. Find them in our app under the tab 'Workshops' on the top of the screen.

📢 All the workshops from the series are three hours long, double as long as our normal classes. Which means booking this class is the value of 2 credits.

📢 If you already have a pass it will automatically take 2 credits away from your pass.

📢 If you don't have a pass yet, we encourage you to buy the 10 credit GO YOUR OWN WAY pass at the price of your choice (normal/solidarity/support). In ℂ𝕒𝕟 𝕨𝕖 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕖 𝕒𝕥 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕤𝕒𝕞𝕖 𝕥𝕚𝕞𝕖, Spring is longing for intimicy with another after years without genuine touch. It unfolds as a tender invitation for a date with the audience, or perhaps something beyond. Held between exposure and longing, the work traces the fragile space between the body that is seen, desired, and still feels alone. Nakedness becomes both shield and question : how to ask for closeness when everyone thinks they already know you? It's a hopefull encounter with desire, distance and the courage to ask.

Every workshop and performance at Gula Gula starts from a different perspective.
Throughout the weekend, local and international artists, community projects and collectives come together to share what they know, what they make and what they imagine. Different backgrounds, different disciplines, one invitation: to participate, to listen and to learn from one another.

Together, they form a sweeeet programme that celebrates curiosity and connection.

First up, 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙-𝘼𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙 explores freestyle dance as a vital form of self-expression and escape. 𝙡𝙚ï𝙡𝙖 𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙚 moves between poetry, performance and textile, creating intimate spaces around healing, vulnerability and identity. 𝘿𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩 returns to GG with a DJ set interwoven with dance performances rooted in ballroom and vogueing, curated by 𝙉𝙖𝙤𝙢𝙞 𝙇𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙚. A playful rave for kids and families, 𝙆𝙞𝙙𝙨 𝘽𝙤𝙣𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨 invites young ravers to collectively discover movement and sound. 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩 presents a weekend-long celebration of drag, community and play. On Saturday, The Agenda brings together 𝙕𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙖 𝙉𝙤𝙫𝙖 & 𝙋𝙪𝙠𝙞 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙖, followed by an Open Stage with DJ 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙆𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙘𝙞. On Sunday, The Agenda: Drag Bingo with 𝘽𝙞𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙞 & 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙖 blends comedy, cabaret and participatory play. 𝘼 𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙞𝙩𝙚 by 𝙎𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 & 𝘽𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚 explores care, intimacy and queer play through performance, pleasure and shared encounters. A myth rewritten from situated stories. 𝘼𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙖 𝙑𝙪𝙡𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙤 erupts from silence — breasts as armour, voice as memory — while 𝙓𝙖𝙭𝙖𝙡𝙭𝙚's live coding and sound conjure a landscape where every gesture rewrites the legend of Sant'Agata. Finally, 𝙂𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙨 & 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙟𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙞𝙣 𝙂𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙨 create a site-specific dialogue between performance, sound, text and installation, exploring bodies, architecture and public space.
