It’s easy to get confused — and that’s not your fault.

“Pilates” is now used to describe a wide range of classes, even when the approach, equipment, and goals are very different.

Some methods are branded fitness systems.
Some are large-group class formats.
Some are still close to the original Pilates method.

They can all be valuable.
But they’re not interchangeable.

Big Day Today! Deep thoughts incoming.

We found out someone found us on ChatGPT. I did take steps (using Chat of course) to help our people find us using AI. Do you think AI can ever replace a human in teaching movement? Could AI ever be as expressive and engaging as Selena here?

Can a being that’s never lived as a human in a body share a common understanding? I think Pilates is a AI proof job where there is real learning happening. What do you think? Let us hear your sci fi theories! by @spring_theory_pilates

The advanced mat work is so tough. Thank goodness I can speed it up in post to make the reps look cleaner. I was really trying to get some speed on the “up” part. Music helps too!

This is definitely a broccoli exercise as @janice_lotwin would say. by @spring_theory_pilates

Even though it’s still Pilates, you can feel the culture of a place in the programming for sure. The one thing that is true both in Encinitas and NYC: If you’re in a class with older folks who know their Pilates stuff, you’ve found a great class. STP clients- I highly recommend taking Pilates when you travel. You will have the skills. by @spring_theory_pilates

Week after week I am inspired by working alongside these amazing teachers.

Instagram always shows a different type of Instructor, but the Spring Theory crew is the real deal.

There are two new teachers in this reel!
Catch Thuy in classes:
Mondays at 5pm for Level 1
Thursdays at 6pm for Level 2.

Jess is teaching 10/27 at 9 and 10am with much more coming soon.

Should we dress up like Pilates Instructors in 2026 for Halloween? Probably. by @spring_theory_pilates

Weird right? What did I miss?

Let’s have some fun in the comments below! by @spring_theory_pilates

There is nothing better than a self-led workshop. We broke out our manuals and worked through advanced exercises last Sunday. Don’t worry, we won’t ask you to do anything too gnarly. We were working out ways to work into the big, scary moves.

But mostly, I made this reel for the pleasure of the movement and music together. Grateful for this team. Enjoy. by @spring_theory_pilates
