One of the standout moments of this year’s Campbeltown Malts Festival was the public opening of our brand-new Bottling Hall & Dispatch Facility on Tuesday, 19th May 2026.

Following speeches from our Chairman, Neil Clapperton, Director of Production, Findlay Ross, and Bottling Operations Manager, Lea Watson, local Campbeltown resident Gillian MacIntyre was asked to cut the ribbon and officially open the site.

Visitors were then welcomed inside for an exclusive first look at our new bottling and dispatch operation, with the chance to see the expanded facility and learn more about the next chapter for J. & A. Mitchell & Co. Ltd.

To celebrate the occasion, guests enjoyed glasses of prosecco and drams of our commemorative Springbank 8 Year Old Fresh Sherry release, bottled exclusively for the opening and limited to just 1,200 bottles.

We are delighted to complete this project and grateful to all the contractors who worked closely with us, especially the local construction firm, McFadyens, which handled the majority of the work.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to help us mark this important milestone. Here’s to the future! 🥃

🌾 Following the success of last year's debut, we were delighted to bring back our Local Barley Farm Tours for the 2026 Campbeltown Malts Festival.

On the Monday and Tuesday, guests were driven by mini-bus to three local farms that supply barley for our Local Barley releases, gaining a unique insight into the agricultural side of whisky production and the close relationships we've built with local farmers.

Along the way, participants enjoyed four drams, including a 10-month-old Local Barley spirit, two previous Local Barley releases, and a single cask sample destined to be used in the vatting for a special future release.

A huge thank you to David and Sean from Glencraigs Farm for their support and for sharing their knowledge of barley cultivation on Scotland's west coast with our guests 🥃 taken in Glencraigs Farm by @springbank1828

Good luck to all the runners in tomorrow's Kintyre Ultra!

Starting in Tayinloan and meandering its way East then West over the Kintyre Penisula, runners will ascend approximately 4,587 feet, going from sea level to sea level (twice!) and finishing 35.5 miles later at Glengyle Distillery, home of Kilkerran Single Malt.

SPRINGBANK CHARITY BBQ AND TASTING

We have a small number of tickets remaining for the Springbank Charity BBQ and Tasting. Link in our bio for tickets.

HERE'S A REMINDER OF WHAT TO EXPECT

Hosted by Sales Director, Ranald Watson, our Campbeltown Malts Festival Charity Tasting returns for a third time, once again thanks to the generosity of Mr Peter Greve, who has opened the doors of his private collection for us to enjoy. All of the proceeds from this tasting will be distributed to charities and good causes in Campbeltown and South Kintyre, many of which rely on such support in order to survive. Beneficiaries from previous tastings include Campbeltown Lifeboat, our primary and secondary schools, local charity Shopperaide, our essential air ambulance and many more.

We're also organising a delicious pre-tasting barbecue for this year's event featuring local seafood, fillet steak and plenty other tasty options. It's May, it's Campbeltown, of course the sun will be shining...but fear ye not, we've got a backup plan just in case!
