For our Lake Tapps ADU and garage addition, the client challenged us to deliver a 3,000-square-foot building on a tight lot without it reading like an oversized garage.

By splitting the mass into two staggered volumes, we were able to reduce the scale and carved out an elevated outdoor living terrace that looks out over Lake Tapps toward Mt. Rainier.

Our clients loved the end result and we are excited to see this project move forward! by @sprottarchitecture

Site visits like this are hard to beat! Not a bad view from one of our latest projects on Fox Island. by @sprottarchitecture

Sometimes the best opportunities come from making better use of the space you already have.

Seattle Vietnamese Christian Church came to us looking for a way to get more use out of their existing gardens and courtyard. The goal was simple: create a comfortable outdoor gathering space that could support events, fellowship, and everyday use through more of the year.

Our solution is a new covered timber pavilion that adds shelter without taking away from what already makes the space special.

We’re excited to see this one come to life!

An architect can help turn a loose idea into a coordinated plan.

That often means clarifying what is possible on the site, identifying permitting issues early, organizing the scope of work, and preparing drawings that contractors and jurisdictions can actually use.

For many projects, the value is not just in the design. It is in reducing confusion before expensive decisions are made.

We believe good architecture strengthens communities and everyday life.

The best projects come from balancing beauty, budget, function, permitting, and construction realities. A building should respond to its site, support the people using it, and make sense long after the first design conversation.

Our work typically starts with understanding the goals, site, jurisdiction, budget, and constraints. From there, we help shape the design, coordinate required information, and prepare drawings that support permit review and construction planning.

The goal is simple: make the process feel less overwhelming and more manageable.
