🎉 IT’S FESTIVAL DAY! 🎉

The Squamish Arts Festival is happening TODAY! Join us at Junction Park from 10AM–6PM for a full day of live music, dance, art, community, creativity and fun.

From high-energy family dance parties and cinematic indie-pop to Celtic folk, Punjabi dance, blues, rock, R&B, line dancing, Latin rhythms and desert blues, there’s something for everyone to move to, discover and enjoy!

Last, but certainly not least, we are thrilled to welcome Michelle Ang to the 2026 Squamish Mural Walk Festival!

Michelle is an illustrator and muralist known for her bold use of colour, expressive linework, and deep connection to the outdoors, something that shines through in every piece she creates.

An avid climber and outdoor enthusiast, she draws inspiration from the landscapes surrounding Squamish, bringing our mountains, forests, and sense of adventure to life through her vibrant work.

Her art can be found throughout the Sea to Sky, including a mural for Carbon Engineering along the Estuary Trail, a piece for Climb On’s Vancouver store, and the 2022 Squamish Loggers Day Festival beer label for Backcountry Brewery.

Join us this Friday to Sunday in Downtown Squamish to watch Michelle, and 10 other incredible muralists transform our community in real time. by @squamish.arts

We’re excited to welcome Fyonna Laddaran to the 2026 Squamish Mural Walk Festival!

Based in Vancouver, BC, Fyonna is an illustrative graphic designer and muralist whose work is rooted in social good. She collaborates with nonprofits, community organizations, and purpose-driven brands to create artwork that celebrates culture, fosters belonging, and inspires positive change.

Passionate about advancing racial, cultural, and disability justice, Fyonna believes thoughtful design can help build more joyful and equitable communities. Through her murals, she creates vibrant public spaces that invite connection, reflection, and a sense of belonging.

The Create Public Art Showcase this weekend was the culmination of an incredible amount of hard work and dedication by so many people! All the installations looked incredible - the numerous artists involved should be SO proud. Never has the makerspace been more alive than during the peak of the builds. Teaching people how to use our tools is great, but seeing them then apply those tools to bring their own large-scale art pieces to life is on another level!

We’re excited to welcome Andrew Tavukciyan to the 2026 Squamish Mural Walk Festival!

Andrew is a Vancouver-based Canadian-Armenian visual artist and designer whose bold abstract murals explore the balance between instinct and intention.

Inspired by both industrial structures and organic forms, his work combines intuitive mark-making with thoughtful composition to create dynamic, large-scale pieces.

Since 2017, Andrew has painted murals across Canada, participating in festivals including the Vancouver Mural Festival, Nelson International Mural Festival, and YYC BUMP.

He has also collaborated on public art projects with the Cities of Vancouver, Richmond, and West Vancouver.

ARTIST HIGHLIGHT: BLUESBERRY JAM SHOWBAND

Get ready to dance!

Squamish’s beloved Bluesberry Jam Showband is bringing their high-energy blend of blues, rock and R&B covers to Junction Park on July 25th as part of the Squamish Arts Festival!

With a full horn section, top-notch rhythm players and three dynamic lead singers, Bluesberry Jam delivers the kind of “must get up and dance” energy that keeps audiences moving all night long. Founded in the early '90s, the band has built an impressive local following and a loyal fanbase that regularly turns out for sold-out shows.

Come experience the musical camaraderie, infectious energy and local talent that have made Bluesberry Jam a Squamish favourite for decades!

We’re excited to welcome mural artist Tyler Toews to the Squamish Mural Walk.

Known for his striking large-scale, three-dimensional and anamorphic murals, Tyler transforms everyday public spaces into immersive art experiences that invite you to step right in.

With a career spanning over two decades, his work blends fine art and street art influences to create bold pieces full of depth, movement, and visual illusion.

From cities to small communities across the country, Tyler’s murals are designed to engage, surprise, and connect people through art, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to Squamish.

You’ll find Tyler painting a permanent mural on the back side of August Jack Motel, be sure to stop by and watch it come to life. by @squamish.arts

“Strangers” is a song we started writing in a tiny hotel room on tour in BC several summers ago after getting dramatically thunderstormed out of a performance, so it’s been so fun to perform this song in the province where it all started.

Thanks so much to the Squamish Arts Council for inviting us out to play last night at Amped in the Park 🩷 excited to keep the good times rolling in Bamfield at @pachenabaymusicfest this weekend and in Duncan at @39daysofjuly Monday!

From blank panels to a bold, large-scale mural!

Our Mural Camp with Alex Fowkes brought young artists together to learn how to design, paint, and create a collaborative mural across multiple panels which are now set to be installed at Brennan Park!

We’re so impressed by what these young artists created and can’t wait to see their work out in the community.

AND there’s still time to join us for our next youth art camp!

🎨 Spray Paint Art Camp with Jessa Gilbert
📅 August 11–14

Learn how to use spray paint to create art, exploring stencil creation, patterning, and colourful techniques. Participants will work together to create a group mural from concept to creation and are also encouraged to bring items they may be interested in painting throughout the week.
