@ketchum_if_u_can may have been a little tied up, but it didn’t stop him from cracking open a “Witch’s Brew” @alaninutrition for day 11 😤 Also, we have a KILLER show this Friday, at @thebluegrouch with @square.of.the.roots , @gold_maps_music , and @clydejr31 & @aimes1970 ! Make sure you come out to one of our last Springfield shows, and pick up a Halloween themed shirt that we’re selling for only $10!

Processing Grief the only way I know—with Music 😭Gary Vogt was a friend and colleague. I have worked with him and his wife Mary at the hospital for years. Yesterday we lost Gary. When I got home from work and cracked a beer and sat down at the piano I said that I was playing this one for Gary🍺When I came to the line about them being parted I really started to lose it and as the tears came, something happened…my iPad I was using to record myself went flying off the piano…as if something flipped it off of there💨Gary worked in IT and always wanted to fix things for people and help them. He became a fan of our music and he even let me BORROW HIS MERCEDES BENZ CONVERTIBLE for the Ride Along video. I found this video clip from the shoot and he does this characteristic head cock with a beautiful sunset behind him on the Mother Road 66 😭😭😭🌅We love you Gary and Mary!! by @square.of.the.roots

Some of the best musicians in Springfield came together in support of this album. As a recipient of a grant from the @illinoisartscouncil I called the people who inspired me when I first started playing music and asked them to collaborate on this to represent our hometown. Right in the middle of everything, Springfield Illinois. You can hear them and me for free-no BS subscription required at squareoftheroots.com or catch me along the trail and get your very own first edition 180 gram vinyl record. We play @harvestmarketspringfield tomorrow on August 29th 6-9. Just make sure you obey all traffic lights 🚦 and rules of the road on your way to the show. taken in Harvest Market - Springfield by @square.of.the.roots
