I don’t know if this is the perfect time to wish myself a happy birthday, but there is always a need to appreciate God for life. Despite the painful realities in Nigeria—the insecurity, the lives lost, and the way the nation is still bleeding—my heart and prayers are with everyone who has lost a loved one or is facing the struggles and inconveniences caused by the state of the country. I truly sympathize with them, and I pray for strength, comfort, and healing. But even in the midst of all this, I’m grateful to God for life, for helping me scale through the hurdles and challenges of this year, and for the grace to see another age. My prayers remain with those going through pain caused by the nation and its failures, and I stand with them in spirit. And through it all, I still thank God for the gift of life. Happy birthday to me.
