Our buddy @randalous got a Canti SO-EZ earlier this year but we waited until it had a nice coat of WNPU dust to shoot it. Mardi Gras paint scheme with matching @whiteind and @paulcomponent bits, and flip flop hub for the SS/TX versatility. Thanks Rusty!

The latest says a bunch of old bike nerds will be crashing the last @squidbikes Shred To Ed’s of the year on Monday, Oct. 26…🚲🎃 Y’all coming or what?

If you don’t think you can shred, it’s ok – we welcome the determined tear, faint scratch, and kiddy-scissor snips too ✂️

Ride rolls out from Squid HQ (5320 14th Ave) at 5:30pm.

If you’re closer to downtown, you can meet us under the J Street bridge (east side) at 5:45pm.

Bring lights, helmets & COSTUMES 🦇

26” sympathizers welcome. taken in Sacramento, California by @squidbikes

The MAYBE DEAD is alive and well, our @prandus_object made 26” ATB is still kickin and this one bucks all our usual trends. No logos? No problem. Root beer sparkle powdercoat instead of spray paint? You got it. Dyno cable routing and a front rack? Absolutely. A polished build kit with @whiteind @paulcomponent and @simworksusa keep things classy on this mostly-USA-made stunner. Wheel size of the future! #maybedead Photos: @belowtreeline by @squidbikes

It’s the last month of Shred To Ed’s before the lights go down and we pack it up for winter hiatus. Our Monday night shop rides are a summertime staple, and even though it’s Fall you can still get in at least one more hot ride cause it’s supposed to be 100° again today! See yall this evening 🥵 by @squidbikes

We have good and bad news for y’all!!!

We’ll lead with the good… @caffeineicide won our @squidbikes Raffle hosted by @peace.sports for our A1 @juantwo3four5, and he really wants to get this bike built!!! So swing by @caffeineicide Wednesday through Sunday 6AM-1PM. Start your ride there or end your ride there, either way let’s help get that bike built.

Now for the bad news, see Juan’s @allcitycycles Cosmic Stallion in the background, we discovered that it is cracked yesterday. Juan really cannot catch a break, because everything is breaking. 😭 And now Juan needs a new bike, just after replacing almost all his spokes, a saddle, and a set of cranks on his tour. So we wanted to inform y’all, @juantwo3four5 is doing a Breakfast Burrito 🌯 Pop-up @collagecoffee tomorrow morning at 8AM until they are sold out!!! So make sure and get outside, and let’s help Juan get another ride. And if anyone has any good luck crystals, please bring them to Juan at the @wahnitodelbarrio Pop-up tomorrow AM, he needs any and everything. Smudge sticks, I mean anything that brings the good energy and purges all bad energy.

We’re half(?)way through the Wednesday Night Pickups season and this year has been pretty sick so far. With Rodeocross starting later in October, we hear WNPU may go a couple extra weeks. Thanks to @norcalcx for putting these on and everyone who’s come out for some dusty hot laps. And enormous thanks to @jnamba for the stellar photography for something like 15 years of this Sacramento bike scene staple! #wedneadaynightpickups by @squidbikes

Cross is here and it’s time to dial in the race rigs, which for us means mostly single speeds. We make The Oner eccentric bottom bracket to run our SSCX bikes without a tensioner. No slipping thanks to the knurled surface that bites into the edge of the bottom bracket shell when you tighten the bolts. 12mm of fore/aft adjustment to tension your chain and keep it there. And of course it’s available in purple. Machined to perfect tolerance by @whiteind to fit PF30 shells so you don’t worry about creaks. One speed is all you need and the Oner is the only BB you need to pull it off.

⚠️ PLEASE READ AND PLEASE SHARE ⚠️ This custom painted @squidbikes Gravtron V1 and @bellhelmets Helmet quickly became symbols of a new life here at @allezlabikeshop when we first opened. We’d shutdown GSC, lost most everything, and needed something to breathe a new life into our new shop. Squid quickly jumped onboard and helped us make some waves with this bike and helmet, and now we wanna use it to help our dear friend Juan in these hard times.

Juan grew up at GSC and has shaped much of his adulthood with the people he met there. But Juan has had a devastating year, first losing one of his best friends, then losing his mother abruptly and unexpected. Juan had to do fundraising and even worked extra to help his family financially during these trying times. With little to know time to grieve, Juan decided to go on a bike tour to help process his feelings, but even this process was riddled with broken spokes, a saddle, and even his cranks.

We’d say Juan can’t catch a break, but he’s literally broken everything he can. So we wanna raffle off this frame, fork, headset, seat collar, and helmet for @juantwo3four5. Giving him every penny we get from this raffle. If you know Juan, you know he deserves this.

Torn Tape - it’s one of our paint styles you can choose for any Sprayed-To-Order Squid, like this SO-EZ. Believe it or not, we just tear masking tape into random shapes to create this pattern. You choose the colors, you choose the style, we paint your new Squid - that’s Spray-To-Order. by @squidbikes
