I’d love to know what the trees and plants are thinking. Wouldn’t you just love to be under that D&D 5th-level divination spell—Commune with Nature? I want to talk with trees and have them share their stories with me.

Sara @lugar76 - you make a good point…the wall installation is one thing, but a wearable version makes so much sense too. Wearable sculpture in solid 18K gold or platinum.

Caught this image and was so delighted with the way the sun bounced around the camera lens. No filter. Straight-up serendipity. Right place, right time.

What an amazing display of creative talent and community support for the second annual Vail Art Studio Challenge. Ten local Eagle County artists competed live, racing a three-hour clock to finish a new piece of art for a $5000.00 prize, an exhibition at Vail International Gallery and a three-week residency in Vail’s Art Studio. The energy in the room was palpable, the artists each produced a unique artwork that expressed their personal creative vision. Congratulations to all the artists and the community of Vail. The excitement and support was immense and meaningful.

This year’s winner of the challenge is @andrewprangerart and two generous cash awards were also awarded to @theartofpinto and @ethanharrisonart

The participantibg artists shown in the photos above:
@kelleroberts_paints (Kelle Roberts)
@sarah_early (Sarah Early)
@terrancegreerart (Terrance Greer)
@andrewprangerart (Andrew Pranger)
@theartofpinto (Jessica Pinto)
@yashmineelizabeth (Yashmine Anderson)
@robert.g.burch (Robert Burch)
@rebeccaharriet_art (Rebecca Harriet)
@seffuller (Sandy Fuller)
@ethanharrisonart (Ethan Harrison)

There are many people who made this event happen. Special thanks to Molly Eppard @vailgov @vicki.logan and Kent Logan @pa_pah_kogs @vailgallery Sarah and Peter Millet, and Patrick Cassidy and many, many more. by @squirebroel

Visit J. Cotter Gallery in Vail, CO to see this new piece up close. From a distance the lines read as solid black but there is so much nuance to the painted surface that can only be seen in close proximity.
