Baby boy blanket ready for a gentle wash and block. It’s been a slow make in the heat but there’s a plot twist - TWIN BOYS!! So I now have the ever dependable Cosy Stripe pattern on my hook using the same colours for Twin 2. No doubt the heatwave will end as I finish!! Finally I have some crochet on my hook after being in the lovely bubble of my daughter’s wedding. This is a Spring throw from a yarn kit I received as a birthday present. All the pastels for a change!

Apparently, it’s EIGHT years since I decided on a whim to make a baby blanket for my friend’s daughter. Lord knows why I thought I could do it but I picked up the basics from video and went at my own pace. We then discovered it was TWO babies so I had my work cut out!
I made the Beautiful Shells pattern by Jonna Martinez and reversed the grey/white colours for the second blanket. I’ve had this pattern for ages and really enjoyed making it in Sirdar Aran on 5.5 hook. No idea why it took me so long!It’s the Snugglebean blanket by @littleduckcrochet and has lovely textured stripes. This is a in white, blue, green and grey. The light makes it difficult to show the colours - the blue is darker and the green softer in reality. could someone have a baby girl? Finally, edging towards completion. My crochet is limited by my thumb problems but, crucially, I’m enjoying it again! Glad I stuck with the new “little and often” approach. Some heartwarming #crochet on a cold, dark and stormy day. This is the crochet group’s entry in the Tree Festival - pared it back this year and it looks lovely. also managed to finish this lovely blanket (pattern by @madebyanita ) to donate to a scheme to deliver blankets to local care homes in time for Christmas. An initiative of a Y7 boy 👏👏. Didn’t get a photo of the blanket blocked and ready but you get the idea!!

So enjoyed making this blanket for a friend of my daughter. She is expecting a boy in a few months. The brief was anything jungle. Love it when you have a fairly free rein. I’m in love with the Hazelnut colour yarn from Hayfield yarn in this one.
