Blurry Boundaries is a month-long interdisciplinary programme taking place from 9th to 26 September 2026 at Time Is The New Space in Rotterdam. Developed by Kapish, the project explores the porous and often contested relationships between sex work, gendered labour, care, intimacy, and artistic practice.💋💋💋

TBT to Sapphic Utopias 💖
Last September, we spent a whole month reimagining queer intimacy, kinship, and desire through sapphic and gender non-conforming lenses.
Together, we gathered for immersive installations, steamy workshops, sapphic cruising, feminist film screenings, and so many moments of tenderness, resistance, joy, and radical pleasure.
Looking back, we’re deeply grateful to everyone who joined us and helped bring this utopia to life. Thank you for dreaming, creating, and imagining with us. Here’s to carrying that energy into everything that’s still to come. 🌙✨

An adaptation of The Healing of Becoming.

This performance explores heartbreak through migration, political uncertainty, and self-healing. Performed within a fog-filled space, it moves through vulnerability, disorientation, and care using breath, fragmented text, pauses, and gestures of repair.

Rather than offering resolution, the work stays with uncertainty. Healing is not a destination, but an ongoing practice of becoming.

Broken Hearts 2 | June 7th | 15:00–19:00 | Free event!❤️‍🩹

Broken Hearts is a performance-based event exploring heartbreak in its many forms.

Expect an art market with local makers, food, drinks, objects, and body-based care. During the market two performances take place. Feel free to wander and find what your broken heart desires!

Programme:🏹

16:00–16:20 Crawling down the throat by Qiao Chu Guo
Breath, skin, and voice slip out of meaning. A visceral landscape where the body distorts, resonates, and leaks beyond itself.

17:00–18:00 Impossible Love Songs by Valentina Vella & Luke {LISA} Deane
Songs that shouldn’t exist, made on the spot. Moving between softness and intensity, intimacy and expansion, with the audience close by.

Throughout the afternoon: Market with local artists, makers, food, drinks, and care-based practices.

Yalla Tnam with Ahmad Mallah + Rebecca Lillich // Krüger

A eulogy for the future, Yalla Tnam utilizes grief songs, lullabies and privilege to create a space for despair.

Thank you so much to MOMO festival/ Motel Mozaïque/ Amarte Fonds (@motelmozaique) and Kunstinstitute Melly (@kunstinstituutmelly) for having us, as well as the wonderful space Clublokaal (@clublokaal_breda) in Breda where Jesse Immanuel Bom’s (@immanuel_bom ) film of the piece can be seen as part of the exhibition (Un)harmed.

We were also happy to present the work during Amarte Wonderland at Club Raum this past week.

OPEN CALL FOR ART MARKET 💔 June 7th 2026 at Roodkapje West, Rotterdam

For Broken Hearts, we’re hosting a one-day art market in the gallery + garden at Roodkapje West.
We’re looking for local artists, collectives, herbalists, food makers, care practitioners, and community initiatives to host one of ~15 stalls.
The market expands the themes of Broken Hearts into a space of exchange, care, creative labor, and mutual support, inviting visitors to meet, share, and connect through informal economies and presence.

✨ Visual art 🌿 Herbal tea + plant-based practices 🍲 Small-scale food projects 💆 Care work / massage 🫂 Community organizations

In September 2026, we will host, at @timeisthenewspace , a month long program exploring the blurry boundaries between s*x work, gendered labor, care, and artistic practice.

💫 Political, sassy, joyful, and emancipatory, welcoming complexity, contradiction, humor, tenderness, rage, camp, and pleasure.

The intent comes from artistic and political research around s*x work, labor, intimacy as work, and the ways certain bodies are historically expected to care, please, perform, serve, etc. We use a broad lens, including overlaps with domestic work, emotional labor, service work, and artistic labor.

We are looking for artists who represent s*x work, care, or gendered labor; who work from lived experience; who question value, visibility, intimacy, desire, autonomy, and joy. Interpretation of the theme is intentionally open.

🍨 Formats
All formats are welcome. The project is structured around an exhibition, one or more performance nights, a workshop day, and a film screening.

🍧 Practical information
Location: Time is the new space, Rotterdam
Dates: full month of September 2026
This is a paid opportunity.

Priority given to artists based in or near Rotterdam.

🍦 How to apply
Send an email to squish.aubane@gmail.com before the 1st of March 2026.

You must include: -3 to 5 jpeg/jpg/mp4 related to your proposal
-3 to 5 jpeg/jpg/mp4 of other artworks
-1 PDF with• a general artistic statement or bio written in the third person, 500-800 characters (no CV or list of exhibitions and grants)
• your interpretation of the theme, 400-900 characters
• a project or artwork proposal, 500-900 characters
• whether you consider or have considered yourself a s*x worker
• the city where you are currently based
• your name and artist name if different
• a link to your website or professional social media page

Incomplete applications or applications not following the required format will be ignored.
We will contact you with the results by the end of March 2026.
