Session 4 – Oil painting progress

In this stage, I focused on refining the background, choosing soft blues and whites to enhance the figure and bring elegance and freshness. I’ve detailed the face, hair, and accessories to reflect the personality of this woman—both strong and graceful.

Some subtle adjustments are still on the way, but the essence I envisioned is starting to come through.

Thank you for following my creative journey.

Ulises y Calipso · Nuevos avances 🌊🎨

Ulysses and Calypso · Work in progress 🌊🎨

The sea is still restless, and Ulysses lies among the wreckage. Calypso approaches from the light of the cave.

I’m continuing to develop this scene, shaping the figures, the reflections and the movement of the water. Here are a few details and a short tour of the canvas from my studio. There’s still work to do, but I’m enjoying watching it come to life.

A moment of rest, with folded wings. ✏️

Two versions of the same gesture: pencil and ink. A sketchbook study inspired by an Egyptian-style costume. I was drawn to the contrast between the grandeur of the wings and that familiar gesture of weariness.

A stop at Cabárceno to watch the brown bears among the rocks and greenery. Some were resting while others moved across the rocks above. Lovely to pause for a while and watch them go about their day. 🐻🌿

Contemplation

Oil on canvas · 90 × 70 cm

A contemporary interpretation inspired by Romanticism and the Pre-Raphaelite tradition. Through light, colour and composition, I sought to capture a quiet moment of contemplation, where nature and the human figure exist in quiet harmony.

A portrait shaped slowly through light, colour and silence.
Still unfinished, but already beginning to reveal its own presence.
