🚦 ROAD SAFETY ISN’T JUST A STATISTIC. IT’S SOMEONE’S FAMILY.

According to Western Cape Government figures, 450 people lost their lives on Western Cape roads in 2025.

181 were pedestrians — the largest group among those who lost their lives.

Behind every number is a parent, child, sibling, friend or colleague whose life was changed forever.

While every crash has its own circumstances, recurring road-safety risks include speeding, alcohol, unsafe crossings, poor visibility and irresponsible road-user behaviour.

And this is why programmes like GCAP’s @sr4a.za — matter.

Because road safety isn’t only about enforcement.

It’s about education.
Awareness.
Responsibility.
Changing behaviour.

It’s about starting the conversation before tragedy happens — especially with our young people and communities.

We can’t change yesterday’s statistics.

But we can work together to change tomorrow’s.

The youth aren’t waiting - they’re ready to engage and embrace the opportunities made available to them.

Day 2 at the Youth In Action event at the @official_cticc was levels 🤩. The questions came thick and fast, and the engagement went through the roof. Young people showed up, spoke up, and challenged us to do more.

For many, it was their first time sitting in a high-performance car, putting on a racing helmet, or experiencing what it feels like to be securely strapped into a racing harness. It was incredible to share the work of @gcap.za and @sr4a.za while demonstrating why every piece of safety equipment plays such a vital role in protecting lives.

Their safety. Their wellbeing. Their future. That’s what drives SR4A / GCAP every single day.

A massive thank you to our incredible team for your passion, dedication, and professionalism. You did a phenomenal job inspiring the next generation.
