WHY CAR SALESMEN SHOULD NEVER TURN A CUSTOMER DISAGREEMENT INTO A PERSONAL CONFRONTATION

Working in automotive sales requires patience, communication, and professionalism. Customers may question prices, disagree with terms, express frustration, or decide not to purchase a vehicle. None of those situations justify an employee challenging, intimidating, or attempting to confront a customer.

WORKPLACE & CUSTOMER-SERVICE AWARENESS:

• Customers have the right to ask questions and express concerns about a purchase.

• Disagreements over pricing or sales terms should be handled professionally.

• Never challenge a customer to settle a disagreement outside the workplace.

• Personal pride should never become more important than professional responsibility.

• Employees represent the business even when conversations become difficult.

• If communication breaks down, involve a manager or another appropriate representative.

• Customers should never feel intimidated for questioning a transaction or declining an offer.

• Maintaining composure is part of providing quality customer service.

• A professional knows how to disengage from an argument without making the situation worse.

THE IMPORTANT TAKEAWAY:

Selling vehicles is a business transaction, not a personal competition. A customer disagreement should never turn into an employee trying to prove something or challenge someone’s pride. Professionalism means knowing how to handle frustration without making customers feel threatened or disrespected.

You’re there to represent a business, not create a personal confrontation. Protect your reputation and respect your customers.

⚠️ Warning: Intimidating or threatening customer interactions can create serious workplace, professional, and legal consequences.

⚠️ Content warning: This post discusses inappropriate workplace conduct and customer confrontations.

MONETT SHOOTING SUSPECT ALLEGEDLY RETURNED TO APOLOGIZE BEFORE FIRING THROUGH DOOR

MONETT, MISSOURI — A 22-year-old Monett man is facing multiple felony charges after an 18-year-old was shot inside a residence on Pearl Street early Friday morning, October 30.

The suspect, identified as Angel Contreras Sandoval, was arrested following the shooting in the 500 block of Pearl Street. According to Monett police, officers responded shortly before 4 a.m. after receiving a report that someone had been shot. They located an 18-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound inside the residence. No other injuries were reported.

According to the probable cause statement, Sandoval told investigators he had been drinking with the victim before the two became involved in an argument. He allegedly left the residence but later returned, saying he wanted to apologize.

Investigators say Sandoval then retrieved a semiautomatic rifle from his vehicle and approached the door. The statement alleges another argument occurred, and the victim attempted to take the firearm.

Sandoval allegedly told investigators that after the victim closed the door, he fired through the lower portion of it, striking the victim. He then reportedly left the scene in his vehicle.

Sandoval faces three charges:

• First-degree assault or attempt
• Armed criminal action
• Unlawful use of a weapon by discharging into a home, motor vehicle or other transportation

The case is listed under Barry County court case 26BR-CR00707. Sandoval’s booking number is 28638, and the jail roster lists his bond at $0.

The investigation and court proceedings will determine how the allegations are handled.

IMPORTANT: These charges are allegations, not proof of guilt. Sandoval is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

JOPLIN MAN SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS FOLLOWING FATAL 2025 CARTHAGE SHOOTING

CARTHAGE, MISSOURI — A Jasper County judge sentenced Elijah Hardee to 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on November 2, 2026, in connection with the February 2025 fatal shooting of 22-year-old Johny Danilo Reyes-Garcia.

The case dates back to February 15, 2025, when Carthage police responded to a reported shooting and disturbance at a residence on West Vine Street. Officers arrived to find Reyes-Garcia suffering from a gunshot wound in the yard. He was transported by ambulance to Mercy Carthage Hospital, where he later died.

According to investigative reports, multiple witnesses identified Hardee as the person who fired the shot. Investigators also learned that a witness had recorded the incident on a cell phone. That footage reportedly captured the altercation and the moment a firearm was discharged.

Hardee was originally charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. On August 10, 2026, he entered a plea agreement, pleading guilty to the reduced charge of voluntary manslaughter. The armed criminal action charge was dismissed as part of the agreement.

Hardee was arrested following the shooting after being located in Galena, Kansas.

DRAKEO THE RULER’S INFLUENCE ON L.A. RAP IS GETTING RECOGNITION FROM A WEST COAST LEGEND

Drakeo the Ruler’s impact on Los Angeles hip-hop continues to receive recognition, this time from legendary West Coast rapper Kurupt of Tha Dogg Pound.

During an interview with POW Magazine, Kurupt reflected on Drakeo’s originality and compared aspects of his approach to Kendrick Lamar. According to Kurupt, both artists understood the importance of developing their own lyrical identity instead of simply following what everyone else was doing.

Kurupt also recalled initially needing time to understand Drakeo’s sound. But after seeing how widely his music was embraced by young people throughout Los Angeles, he began to recognize just how special the rapper was.

Drakeo, born Darrell Caldwell, became known for his unconventional delivery, inventive vocabulary, and distinctive sound that he called “nervous music.” His influence extended beyond his hometown, helping shape a new direction for West Coast rap.

Although Drakeo was tragically killed in December 2021, his musical legacy continues to reach new listeners and earn recognition from artists who understand the culture he helped shape.

Kurupt’s comments are another reminder that originality can leave an impact long after an artist is gone.
