Old man you and i came a very, very long way. From a 24 year old kid with a chip on his shoulder who departed from the US Navy in 2006, walking into your office (Styles security) looking for work with Marisol and Butter bringing me onboard. You and I clashed heads- a lot. With me being outspoken, and you being transparent whether I liked it or not. However, from a distance i always admired you, your career, and the contributions you made to the Security industry, once upon a time- having one of the best teams in NYC -Bar None; I’m glad to have been part of that team- despite us all taking different paths.

Thank you for the letter of recommendation you wrote for me when I needed it.

Thank you for never forgetting where you came from, despite the stereotypes that come with being in Law enforcement in our community.

From a John Jay College Graduate, to a retired detective- 1st grade.

I salute you 🫡.

Been through some crazy moments and crazy times together from the streets, to Rikers Island, to bouncing, to bodyguarding. I’ve always pushed you when you were slacking because I seen greatness in you even when you hated it. “On your feet” I barked at you. Because we are paid to stand not sit when we on post.

Death is a part of life. Something I understand by the grace of God with me still being here. I will carry you with me in sprit.

Rest in peace you big mother fucker. Ive been a certain way my whole life never saying I love anyone unless it’s my mother or grand mother or a woman I truly adore. However I show through my actions the love I have for my comrades, as well as my brothers and sisters in black. If you hear me Serious in Jannat, Love you brother RIP to a real one, a bouncer, bodyguard, general, and warlord- Brother David “Serious” Anderson, Brooklyn’s finest.

My condolences to the Anderson family, and Kareem who has been there for Serious day in and day out of his life.

Eternal,
Mando.
