woot woot! degree finally secured 🎓🍾Last month, I graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in African & African Diaspora Studies, Political Science, and a minor in Film Studies. This has been a tumultuous journey and a long four years coming, and I have been blessed with the most wonderful memories and lessons thanks to the amazing people and opportunities I’ve encountered. This has been a year of Ws: I returned from studying abroad at Sciences Po Reims in France, won Showdown with the fantastic @fistsladies in front of a sold out crowd, hosted a @bc_haiti ZoeFest for the books, modeled for the first @kapturedby_kaylee gallery of many, wrote a senior thesis, all while graduating cum laude on a full merit scholarship. And finally, the Boston Celtics won the NBA Championship. There’s really not much more I could ask for. All thanks to God, my family, my mentors, and my dearest friends. Those that know me well know that there’s no better way to reflect on my BC experience than through @insecurehbo references. That show has consistently gotten me through each season of life since its release, and I pray to make even a dent of that impact on people and the culture during my post-grad era. “It Would Just Be Great To Show The Kids That There’s Beauty In Their Own Backyard,” and @srishotit is only the very beginning. Onto the next chapter, there’s much more celebratory @viaraewines prosecco to be popped in this lifetime. Cheers to that. 🥂📸: @kapturedby_kaylee as per usual! LDN, 2024 This series reflects my time visiting London and experiencing fashion and culture in a way that was both contradictory and interesting. In my perspective, London culturally felt conservative and formal in some ways, as their reputation follows, yet experiencing the Black nightlife there felt anything but conservative. The density of West African and Caribbean people in London added to an active nightlife culture that was sultry, fashionable and unexpected. The two men in suits and military berets reflect the parts of the culture that uphold the reputation of formality, while their physical framing of the centered woman reflects the provocative adventure and boldness that I encountered exploring this city’s nightlife.Models: @sriyonce @j_abloh @amirchambers by @sriyonce
