Year 10 was a struggle. Cataract surgery due to long term steroid use. A rejection that was a little scary. And doing it all without my dad here was not ideal. But there were still good times to be had and I got to finish out the year by making a trip dad never got to make. Spending the week in San Francisco is what I needed with my family. One year ago we lost my dad and he wanted to see the redwoods one day. He didn’t make it but we did. And shared a great lunch in Chinatown. Happy Thanksgiving. #lifeaftertransplant #family #sanfrancisco #randglounge by @srod81

Over the last month I’ve been struggling with a little maintenance on this borrowed liver. Between ultrasounds and a biopsy they decided that a 4 week immunotherapy would be the best bet. I was in and out of the hospital and infusion centers to get the numbers back on track, it was a form of rejection, but more of my aggressive autoimmune hepatitis that stopped reacting to my current drug regimen. It seems to have worked! I will be watched closely for the next 6 months and go from there. This is always a reminder that transplant is not a cure. Just a treatment. #lifeaftertransplant #livertransplant #donatelife by @srod81

Spent the morning at @hhocharlotte making lunch for guests there. Mom is in town and seemed to be a perfect outing today. Driving her halfway home tomorrow after two weeks here. Was a nice visit that I always look forward to. Oh.
