It’s time for a different breed of monster.

I’m Samantha Rodes— a multidisciplinary SAG-AFTRA creature performer, actor, writer, and storyteller.
A monster is born before the camera rolls. It begins in psychology, mythology, history, and possibility.

That’s where I come in.

I bring an actor’s depth, a writer’s instinct, and a physical discipline that embraces the demands of the craft. Because I’m obsessed with the soul beneath the creature.

Which is why this work exceeds specialization. All of it is a lifelong vocation, and I continue to evolve through it.

Special thanks to @avemonsters for directing, co-producing and editing.

Hi, everyone! Long time no update.
As of summer 2026, I am now signed on as a Creature and Prosthetics Performer at Creature Creations Agency (CCA).
Many years ago, Creature Boy (aka, Brian Steele) had tried to start an exclusive creature casting agency as well. Although I’m not privy to all of the details over why the endeavor never fully launched, a part of me was saddened to see it fall through. Finding the proper rep who can not only vouch for me but knows the unique qualifications for wearing heavy suits and undergoing extreme prosthetic transformations is a rare combination.
I’d love to extend my appreciation and gratitude for being repped by an amazing agency that’s going to make big moves when it comes to the art of creature performance, and finding the proper people who know how to do it right. And to my fellow CCA performers:
Let’s show everyone what we’re made of.
It’s time for a new class of creature.

New Reel, what is this? (I'm truly humbled by every opportunity that's met my way, along with all the incredible artists and performers I've gotten to work with.) I've been delaying this for a long time, placing too much pressure to wait for so-called opportunities to arise that would make it live up to an impossible expectation that would never be fulfilled. Otherwise, your friendly neighborhood Creature Girl is up and running for getting into a suit and/or makeup to bring your nightmarish monsters to life. 😈🐉 by @srodes13

Full artwork for this week’s episode of Frankenstein’s Podcast! The lads cover two versions of “The Phantom of the Opera.” And yet not the two versions anyone thinks about when you say, “The Phantom of the Opera”!!!!! I know…I know! What are we even doing here, people? Might as well do an episode on all the Pokémon I made up in elementary school! At least their guest Samantha Rodes is a delight! Give it a listen! Give it a like! Give it Fancy Feast©️!!! by @srodes13

⭐️ New Episode! ⭐️

Joining us this episode is creature-actor, stunt & motion-capture performer, and creative writer Samantha Rodes ( @srodes13 )! Together, we discuss the iconic, macabre classic, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

While discussing the legacy of the overall story, we specifically dig into the 1925 silent-film starring Lon Chaney, as well as the 1989 iteration with Robert Englund as the titular phantom.

It's a great conversation, find it through the link in our bio or wherever you get your podcasts! As always, shoutout to Jim Tandberg ( @jimstagram292 ) for the outstanding art piece to go with this one. 🎭🌹

“Come, oh sailors, hear my music/ Echoing from sea to cove / Bring your hull into my harbor / Join the teeming wrecks below … “
(Coral Crown, Hades Game @supergiantgames )

Another encore post for @nicolecalderari_muah ‘s phenomenal makeup. As always, I appreciate @mudstudiolosangeles for having me, and working with @deverill_weekes is always a pleasure.

“There is, one knows not what sweet mystery about this sea, whose gently awful stirrings seem to speak of some hidden soul beneath.”
Herman Melville, Moby-Dick

Special thanks again to @mudstudiolosangeles @nicolecalderari_muah @deverill_weekes for creating something remarkable in the abyss. It was a pleasure bringing out a more feminine, monstrous side of myself I normally don’t get to become in the makeup chair.

“The siren sings so sweetly that she lulls the mariners to sleep; then she climbs upon the ships and k i l l s the sleeping mariners.”
Leonardo da Vinci

Thank you to the depths and back to @nicolecalderari_muah , @deverill_weekes , @makeupdesignory for having me a fourth time to model this year. It’s always a joy to partake in whatever creations your artists have in mind. I’ve always wanted to break out of the ordinary glass box of creature work and embody something beautiful, yet eerie. The teeth really sold it for me!
Thank you for having me embody the siren’s song.
